It would have been a 20+ point win had it not been for the refs just letting WSU get away with everything.

That was the story of the game. We did not get our share of the calls.

We absolutely want refs that let it get physical like that. I think it’s part of the reason our guys aren’t begging for calls, they know the more physical the game is the better it is for ISU.

Not a great game at all but that was still enough to handle them in the last 10 minutes or so. Gritty team win.

Big 12 prepared us for gritty,tough wins. Such a hard nosed team

Respect to Wazzu. Their length bothered us early on. Rice is a good player and an easy guy to root for.

We played our C game in the first half and it was tied at half.

This team has a bunch of dawgs on it.

Lipsey should be the new mayor of Ames.

Milan started slow, but was a stone cold killer in the 2nd half.

Curtis Jones continues to be the perfect spark off the bench.

Sweet 16 *******.

Gotta give props to Ward also. The team plays way better when he is out there.

I didn’t think our first half offense was that bad up until it came to putting the ball in the hoop. Those were always going to start falling when they loosened up a bit.

This is the first time, since the 2000 team, that I know we are good enough to win the whole thing. Not, "if we get the right draw," not, "if we can just contain X player for the opponent," not "if we get lucky and somebody takes out the #1 for us."

And we've had several teams get to this point since then. But this is the way to build a team to go all the way.

I noticed part way into the second half that they'd moved Watson on to cover Wells. Anyone notice if that was the entire 2nd half when he was in? If so, low key huge game in shutting WSUs only offense down.

Yep won't show up in the stat sheet but he was key in the 2nd half

Games like this are only gonna help the team get better. They know they can start slow then clamp down and win. They’ve been scrapping all season. WSU gave all they had, the Clones just gave more. Great game on to the next one keep the train rolling

Figured it would be a dog fight with their length and defensive identity. Our guys just stayed focused on their game and battled out a win. Knew they could do it as they’ve won several of these types of games this year.

All anyone wanted before the tournament started was refs that didn't call things too tight, and that's what we got.

For me it was the inconsistency, that was what was frustrating
