great win in 5 and sounds Nolan tied the Big 12/ISU (Mass's) dig record - blog/stats seemed to die at the end so I'm not sure if she broke it on the last couple points or not.

Nolan did in fact break the school & conference record for digs (43!!!)

Great win for our confidence. Winning these 5 setters should help down the road with a young team.

that is awesome to hear! I know a lot of us were pretty unsure about her stepping into Mass and Hahn's shoes......she's done an incredible job!

A lot of good things in this match to go with Nolan's record! But we need to do it on the road too. As for Nolan, I would never have predicted this achievement. But never underestimate CJL's ability to pick and nurture All-American Liberos.

I stopped worrying about that after watching the match in Minnesota. Team played poorly in 2 of the sets in Mpls but I pretty impressed with Nolan.

I couldn't watch tonight but looking at the stats I see Capezio had 12 errors. She is really in a error funk. Not sure how we won with someone with 48 attacks ending up hitting .083.

Ciara is a determined, wonderful weapon - but too often errant. Only a sophomore, she has plenty of time to develop habits to make her more consistent. What saved us is consistency by other players like Nolan who focuses her determination. Watch Nolan's face. What a competitor! Yea, Nolan is definitely big time. If we could just see a consistent OH like Hockaday or Jenson, we'd be pretty unstoppable.

Glad the team was able to win this one. They should have closed this one in 4, instead of having to go to 5.

Yeah consistency - at Texas Tech Ciara had 21 kills, 6 errors for .361 and last night at Hilton .083.

I notice Knuth played at TT and not at all against KU. So there is a lack of consistent line-ups too which may be a problem. Not sure as this may be strategy using special players vs certain teams or sets.

Nolan was awesome last night, and it was great to see this young team bear down in the 5th set and take the match. I am excited for the future.

Re-watching on ESPN3, this team has gotten much better at blocking, and last night the whole team refused to let the ball hit the floor. Really good defense after the first set.

the blocking this season has been leaps and bounds above what it's been in all the 5-6 years that I've been watching.

I think Ciara is underappreciated. She is probably our best full rotation player, she has a strong serve and we go on runs on her serve, and she is also a great passer and digger for an OH, similar to how Hock was.

I think the problem with this team is the "all around" play. We have a lot of players with 1 or 2 amazing skills, but not "all around" play, especially on defense.
