Going by the last NWCA dual rankings, the top three seeds would be

1. Virginia Tech
2. Iowa State
3. Old Dominion

So I imagine we'd get a first round bye, then the winner of the 7-10 dual, then (assuming no upsets) Old Dominion and then VT. I haven't looked into it yet to see where every team is at but hopefully Arizona State isn't in the 6, 7, or 10 spot.

4 pools of three. Round robin in the pool, then mini-brackets. First-place teams wrestle each other (semi, conso, champ), and so on down the line.

How many matches will they probably get? 5???

I looked at their handbook after theshadow posted it was pools. We'll get 4 duals. 2 in pool competition and then 2 in the mini-bracket we place in to.

Much better format than the old National Duals. Nice to know that you'll get 4 duals no matter what, instead of getting anywhere from 2-6.

Jackson said at the press conference today that Downey is enrolled and eligible but he doesn't expect him to wrestle this weekend.

George Mason has one wrestler ranked by Intermat, Greg Flourney is ranked 19th at 157. Flourney beat Rodriguez-Spencer 6-2 at Midlands. Our only other match this year against somebody from George Mason is Larson getting a 16-0 tech fall over Bill Prochiewski, a backup at 125. We have a common opponents with them in Virginia Tech. Here's the results of that dual

125: Joey Dance (VT) over Ibrahim Banduka (GMU) (TF 17-1 5:02)
133: Vince Rodriguez (GMU) over Ryan Haskett (VT) (MD 11-3)
141: Solomon Chishko (VT) over Tejon Anthony (GMU) (MD 10-2)
149: Konbeh Koroma (GMU) over Chad Saunders (VT) (Dec 6-4)
157: Gregory Flournoy (GMU) over Jake Spengler (VT) (MD 10-2)
165: David McFadden (VT) over Blake Roulo (GMU) (Dec 10-3)
174: Zach Epperly (VT) over Daniel Mika (GMU) (Fall 3:26)
184: Zachary Zavatsky (VT) over Luke Ludke (GMU) (TF 17-2 4:04)
197: Jared Haught (VT) over Cameron Houston (GMU) (TF 18-1 5:00)
285: Ty Walz (VT) over Gary Miltenberger (GMU) (MD 18-7)

Are the pool champions then reseeded for the final bracket or is it prearranged?

Kent State has three guys ranked by Intermat. #10 Mack McGuire at 133, #13 Micheal Depalma at 149, and #2 Ian Miller at 157. Good matches for Hall and Moreno to prove themselves. I don't believe we have had any matches against anyone from Kent State this year. Which is a little strange since they were at both Vegas and Midlands.

Took a first look at how we match up against Kent State and I think we need wins out of Earl and Harrington for sure. Some bonus at 165 and 174 wouldn't hurt either.

Might be a dumb question but will they start at 125?
