Unfortunately the Vikings have most likely played themselves out of being on TV in the Des Moines market for the rest of the year. (prior to last two games, I believe we'd received every game). I can't recall any games not being on TV in central Iowa last year.

Anyway, to my point. Do people have a favorite Viking friendly bar in Des Moines they hit when games aren't televised? I normally go to Felix and Oscars on Merle Hay Road. They show all Vikes games (with sound) and there is normally a pretty good contingent of fans there. I've heard Mickey Finn's on Douglas Avenue in Urbandale is pro-Viking's. Can anyone confirm? Others?

I've watched games @ The Game in Urbandale before (strip mall @ the corner of 86th and Douglas). It was pretty decent. Free game day chili, but there are fans of a lot of other teams there too.

Any place with DirecTV will show it. Might be your best bet.

Note I didn't ask who shows the games, that is easy to find. I specifically indicated "Viking friendly".

Maybe I'm wrong (and I'm not trying to throw anyone under the bus) , but I figured most understand that "<insert team> friendly" means the place makes it known they support a certain team, you can always find a group of said team's fans there, and most importantly, said team's game will be on the best TVs with the sound turned up.

Whenever I've watched Vikes games @ The Game, it's been the one on most TVs, and the majority of people there were Vikes fans. Usually because it means that the Chiefs and Packers are on TV and their don't have to go anywhere.

With the "snow-out" and the move to Monday, only limited TV coverage tomorrow with the game against the Giants . In central Iowa it will be NFL Ticket or head to a bar. Given most places will be favoring the MNF game, could be a true test to see what places truly are Viking friendly. I may give The Game a try and/or check out Mickey Finn's to see if it is truly the place to be. If all else fails, back to F & O's I guess.
