Anyone else go to the show at the Val Air last night to see Velvet Revolver? Just seeing what other people thought. I thought it to be an OK show, not as good as the last time I saw them. Played way too many songs I didn't really care for. But all in all nice to see a rock show.

Did Scott Weiland make it to the gig? I saw he was a no-show last week at a VR show @ Sundance in Utah.

Yeah, I was there. I thought it was a decent show. Not as good as the first time I saw them, but still good. Show started an hour late for - who knows why. I got concerned when the show started with Duff singing an Iggy Pop tune, but then Scott came out in the second song (might have been a SRV cover) and the show was on. Good mix of VR tunes. Lots of energy from Scott and Dave was pumped because his family was at the show (they're from the area).

Best rock star move of the night was Scott slipping over to the bar, standing on the bar and singing. Then, he crowd-surfed back to the stage.

They played the obligatory G'NR and STP songs. They hit "It's So Easy," "Patience" and "Mr. Brownstone." From the STP catalog, they played "Vasoline," "Unglued," "Interstate Love Song" and "Sex Type Thing." Plus, they tucked in a nice cover of Pink Floyd's "I Wish You Were Here."

Good show, not the greatest, but still worth the free ticket from the station. ;)

I was there. Still recovering in fact. I wasn't a big GNR or STP fan but went, just because. Glad I did. I thought it was a great show. Weiland on the bar was pretty cool. Would have been a better rock star moment if he would have grabbed a bottle of whiskey and downed it:notworthy:

Seems like almost every show I've seen at Val Air has started an hour late. Is this just a common practice with bands, or is there something wrong with that place that makes bands way behind schedule?

Well the word is that the reason the band came out and started the show with an Iggy Pop cover is because they were tired of waiting for Scott, so they just started. Cardani (the val-air promoter) is known for sometimes fudging the start times by a half hour so he can increase beer sales.
