Isn't that Aerospace Eng?
Yes it is, but it's an example of a "good" Veishea display.
I used to do event marketing (I know, I know...) and the most important thing is to have something at your display that "does" something, that is at least marginally related to what your interest "does".
I'm assuming a manufacturing engineer develops tools, processes and machinery that assists in the efficient manufacturing of products, no?
So find a way to distill the essence of what you do, make it small and portable enough to put out in the public eye, and let people see and touch it.
I'm visualizing some kind of faux manufacturing plant where simplified ingredients go in one end, and they are assembled into something that a kid can take with them at the other end as a toy. But it cannot be too "child-like" because it also needs to capture the attention of adults, as well.
Or perhaps a miniaturized representation of a real assembly line, complete with robot arms and LEDs simulating automated welding machines, kind of like a doll-house for geeks, if you will. I think something like that would engage me, and possibly my incoming freshmen daughter who wants to be an engineer as well for over an hour, at least. Make it as realistic and detailed as possible, and include a computer screen that gives you a guided tour of the "plant".
Make it nice, and portable enough to be used more than just at Veishea.
But I'm just hip-shooting, here...
