I know girls don't care about how many dead hookers you can fit in the trunk, but you could probably fit 5 or 6 in it if they're small. :jimlad:

you know, it's a small car, but if you pack right, you might be able to get a few more than that ;)

When I moved out of Freddy Court, I somehow got all of my stuff to fit in that car. I couldn't really use my rearview mirror, but I got everything home!

When I was looking at cars a couple years ago I test drove an 07 Fusion & 07 Impala.

The Fusion was basically fully loaded & the Impala was just the LT model.

I liked both, thought they rode well & everything. In the end I went with the Impala. Not only was it cheaper with less miles, but I thought it felt quite a bit roomier than the Fusion. That was probably my biggest deciding factor between the 2.

Ended up test driving several different cars (Honda, Impala, Fusion [I4 and V6] and the Altima)

Loved the Altima and ended up buying a 2009 with 50k today. Scary to write a 5-digit check, but happy with the price and excited to have a car that isn't legal drinking age!

Thanks again for the advice!

That car seems to be pretty popular with the ladies. My mom has it as well as a couple of the girls I new back in college. Seems to be pretty reliable.

Enjoy the car!

It's popular with my husband too, we barely got it home and he snatched the keys to go run errands.

I work in the automobile business and I would strongly suggest a Ford Fusion. You can find one at the 2009 to 2010 level for approximately 13,999 if not cheaper. I wouldn't buy any thing over 60,000 on the odometer.
They stand up and get approximatly 30+mpg on the highway.

that was probably our 2nd choice (if you check above, we've since purchased an Altima) but we both liked the ride and comfort of the Altima better. That and we honestly could not find a decent Fusion under 14,500. Well, at least not a V6 and we tried the I4 and would definitely not get that. Definitely did not feel powerful enough, but we did like the V6.

Great choice in car. I own a 2008 Altima. Can't argue with 34.5 mpg highway in the summer, and going 400 miles combined driving during the summer between refills. When we were test driving cars we test drove a 2008 Ford Fusion. Didn't like it so much. However, when I was on travel a few weeks ago I got a 2012 Fusion as a rental. Let's just say that if I had pit that Fusion against the Altima, I may have bought the Fusion. That being said, I still love my Altima.

My brother in law just got his second Altima. Decent vehicles and they are a dime a dozen, so bet you found a lot of good deals on them. Only thing I don't like about them is the CVT transimission(I'm not sold on their over 100,000 mile realiability).

I had the previous generation Impala and put 160,000 miles on it and was a great car. I thought the redesign was a step backwards(less room in back seats and cheaper interiors). Still wouldn't have been a bad choice from a value standpoint.

All the Ford products seem a little pricey to me right now. Think they are trying to price competive with the imports.

We've got a Honda and really like it. Toyota products have always impressed me. Lot's of choices out there. Think you made a good choice.

I think Nissan may have a 120k warranty on the cvt transmissions.

I want to check out cars with a V-4 engine. Can someone tell me what cars have them? I am only interested in a V-4, not an inline 4 or boxer 4.

Odd request. I certainly can't think of any. Compared to inline and boxer, the V arrangement would require a lot of balancing, which saps more power from an already less powerful cylinder count.

Why not settle for a traditional 4 or step up to a 6?

I have a Mazda 3 for sale. Just got it professionally detailed and put brand new tires on it ($800 almost). I absolutely love the car and all the space (it's a 4 door) but I need a truck or SUV. It's very fast and reliable and the gas mileage is awesome, 33mpg on interstate 28mpg in town. I have it listed at $11500 but I'd be willing to negotiate with a fellow cyclone! PM if your interested at all. Best of luck with your car search!

That's a pretty classy post right there. Why don't you come right out and call her a stupid girl?

I think it's probably more of an issue that the poster didn't understand that the "V" depicts the arrangement of the cylinders in the engine - the poster probably thought that's just a designation. The reason why this is my guess is because up until a few years ago, while I knew most traditional 6 and 8-cylinder engines took a "V" shape, it didn't dawn on me that's what the "V" stood for until I had to look up what a W-12 was (Audi A8).

Thank you for taking the time to kindly point out to me my incorrect use of terminology. Not all of us are as educated on the differences as you clearly are. So I'm glad that you took the time to help me learn a little more about cars instead of acting like an ***.
