I think it's probably more of an issue that the poster didn't understand that the "V" depicts the arrangement of the cylinders in the engine - the poster probably thought that's just a designation. The reason why this is my guess is because up until a few years ago, while I knew most traditional 6 and 8-cylinder engines took a "V" shape, it didn't dawn on me that's what the "V" stood for until I had to look up what a W-12 was (Audi A8).
yup, that's exactly it. I see now that the Fusion says I4 and V6. Now I know what the "I" and "V" stand for. So thanks for that education! I'll edit my previous post so it reflects that.
