Imagine what Hilton would be like after 10 more years of Prohm.Used to be one of the best atmospheres in college basketball. Really sad to see

If you randomly flip through all the ESPN+ games on a weeknight a majority of the gyms in the country look like this. We are just used to watching Big 12 games.
Prohm? The last year of Gmac Hilton was lucky to be half full for conference games.Imagine what Hilton would be like after 10 more years of Prohm.

this is the type of arena we like to go into and lose.
I disagree; they made a good hire in Brad Underwood. They just lost him after 1 year. I think OSU would be in a different place if they could've kept Underwood.Should have never fired Travis Ford
This.Underwood was a pretty good hire but he bolted for Illinois as soon as he could
Can't believe it, but I actually had to Google who their new coach was. I don't remember there being any fanfare about it after they let Boynton go.

I remember going to the 2014 3OT game in stillwater. They were selling kevin durant Thunder jerseys in the concourse. I thought it was so strange selling a jersey of a conference opponent even if they were pro. I could never imagine Hilton selling jerseys of former Kansas players.Stillwater has a small population of less than 50K, and there is really nothing around it with any size. OKC 65 miles away. With Norman being a burb of OKC and the NBA team that close it just kills them.
I've been reading up on Lutz. Pretty impressive resume. Will be interesting to follow the progress. It's a school with a pretty decent history in basketball, the question is will they have the support? To be fair to Lutz, it is Year #1 and he wasn't left much in the cupboards.
Granted TJ basically rebuilt the team in one offseason... but TJ is a magician.
We'll see how things look in a few years.
They should sell the Thunder back to Seattle. I know it would never happen, but if I was a die hard Cowboy fan I'd be in favor of itIt's been just a perfect storm of crap for OSU basketball.
They expanded the arena just a couple years before they get an NBA franchise an hour down the road. Then the program became mired in mediocrity, or at least went down a notch from where they were when the arena expanded.
They didn't just expand the arena, either. They basically doubled it's capacity.
It's funny how other schools, like Baylor for example, have purposely reduced the seating capacity of their new arenas so they won't be so embarrassed with all the empty seats and so they can try to gain a better home court advantage. It's hard to argue with that logic, but it's a sad comment on those schools. Makes you realize the fan support at Iowa State is so much better than most other schools, even those with very successful programs. It's been just a perfect storm of crap for OSU basketball.

That's just recognition that scarcity presents larger opportunity for profit. They likely could fill more seats, but the goal is maximizing revenue, and bad camera angles. It's funny how other schools, like Baylor for example, have purposely reduced the seating capacity of their new arenas so they won't be so embarrassed with all the empty seats and so they can try to gain a better home court advantage.
