Don’t get me wrong I’d like to listen to talented color commentators like Joel Klatt every game, but you have to remember ESPN is broke and can’t afford talent. I’m not sure if Tubberville is better at coaching or commentating.

If you look at my history I don’t say much when they win or lose. It takes a special talent to get me to comment on the announcers.

I had to mute to the game to listen for the first time ever. I’m talking basketball or football!

Tubberville is the old guard. Was pretty obvious he wasn't rooting for us. He said some things I agreed with but in general he was a jack ass. Defense just looked tired to me yesterday. Offense and o-line take most of the burden for the loss. Defense didn't tackle well to be fair.

I've never commented on an announcer before either. He was unprepared, and terrible.

Same here. Announcers hardly register with me when I watch a game. But he was more than annoying. Every time Iowa State did something good, the other announcer was very excitingly complementary, and he would immediately follow with what poor thing WV did instead. Who remembers how many times he said ISU executed a certain play against WV's 2nd or 3rd string players? Well, buddy, we had 2 starting O-lineman out, too.
I've never claimed an announcer was continually derogatory against one team like this guy...ever. I'd be willing to bet that if a non-partial observer from ESPN was asked to go back and evaluate the telecast, he would agree.

Halfway into the first quarter I put the TV on mute and listened to CycloneTV. Tubberville was a bad coach, but he is worse at this.

The repeated use of "earned that call" was getting to me...

Way up there
Pretty sure he never once got Ka'raun White's name right. He kept calling him LaRon. Everyone makes mistakes but he committed to his.

ESPN is not broke. They are still quite profitable, in fact. Just not insanely, ludicrously profitable, which is what is causing ABC/Disney shareholders to freak out.

My favorite was the time KCM made a play and Tommy called him something like "Cotter-Moto". He's only a team captain, returning all conference player, and maybe the best safety in the Big 12. With even little prep before the game you can get the stars' names right. I've never posted about the announcers before but Tuberville is a special kind of bad.
