You may remember him for his bright orange shoes, his floppy highlight hair, or his banked in three pointer against us in Austin. It appears the big man is taking a leave of absence from UT at the very least. His dad went off on Twitter about Beard apparently too.

Texas is gonna Texas, no matter the sport.

The complaints about Beard never playing/liking bigs is interesting. If that is known, why go play for him?

Beard went from a well loved coach at Tech to universally hated as a coach and a man. It took about 10 months for that to happen. Tech Loved him and we all respected him.
I hope he's happy. He probably does have a few extra million reasons to be happy. Seems like Tech was paying him pretty well too though. He could've been coach for life there probably, unless Adams is really the brains behind the whole operation, in which case Beard could've at least held on until Adams retired.

I called this when he got hired. Some guys do really not like playing for him. He has lost two five stars two years in a row mid season and now Mitchell. He is overrated as a coach. I think Adams is most responsible for his success at Tech. He went all in on transfers this year as well and they lose a ton. He is going to have go all in again on transfers but how many will want to go there. I can't imagine a guy like Disu is happy he went there either.

It's almost like bringing in every high-profile transfer you can and hoping they get along isn't a good idea...

I just don't know how they thought this was going to work. You can't bring in Carr, Mitchell, Bishop, Disu and Allen all as transfer and expect them all to be happy with their role.

I was on the mred's bracket generator for the conference tourney. Looks like if we beat K-State Saturday we will most likely play get TX in first round at KC. IF we lose it will probably be Baylor. IMO TX would be a better draw. Okie St game didn't seem to have much effect.

Tough two month stretch for the former 4 star and he wants to take his pacifier home and transfer?

Sounds like a UT guy to me. Beard may be harsh with some of the leftovers but he could have left this summer I guess.

Not a UT guy originally. Played his first 2 years at UMASS.
