Transferring Pictures from iphone

My wife phone has ~1000 photos but when she tried to transfer the pictures to the Laptop, the Laptop only found ~800. We verified that there are 1000 pics. We have googled different ways for the Laptop to recognize the pics and even tried on different laptops. Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks!

You could try transferring xyz number of photos. Then delete them from the phone. Then see if the laptop sees xyz new ones that it didn't see before.

It is from burst photos. Your phone may have 7 photos but only transfer one.

We checked and there were not burst pics. The pics that are not recognized are from 3 specific days.

Are the other 200 videos?

No, just pictures. She recalled during one of the days, there was a software update but since didn't update the software until several days later after those pics were taken. Not sire whether this has impact or not.

FYI...Several people I've talked to didn't know this but Google Photos now has free unlimited storage (used to be limited to 15gb.) My kids just switched phones and it was absolutely the easiest way I found to transfer photos, completely painless.

ruxCYtable I was just going to say use Google Photos. That's what I use on my Android device so it syncs to the Cloud after I take a picture so if something happens to my phone I will still have all my pictures.
