Iowa is going to be pretty bad again next season, so I’m not sure it really matters.
Not wanting to argue, but they had a winning record, beat a ranked Wisconsin team, and won an NIT game. 10 - 10 in conference. That probably tops what about 200 other teams did. For being in a conference that is all about football, they had a respectable season, all things considered. Just another way of looking at it.

I don’t see what they have done to continue to be a middling team for 24- 25.

Agreed, next year looks fairly bleak right now. I was only saying last year wasn't horrible, considering they were a top 100 team out of over 300 teams.

Pretty favorable schedule draw for Iowa. The 3 teams they play twice are projected bubble teams. Home draw includes a couple cupcakes (Minnesota and Penn State). Road slate is pretty difficult... The "worst" team on paper is Illinois who is definitely not done in the portal.

That seems purposeful. Need to get those bubble teams an extra win for that resume.

Real scheduling gauntlet they got in league play.

Double plays are Northwestern, Wisconsin and Nebraska.
Oof! Glad ISU doesn't have to face that... We're lucky to be in the pillow soft Big 12. :jimlad:

Why does every Iowa player look like they get haircuts from their mom?

I hope that’s their ceiling for the foreseeable future.

According to 247, Iowa ranks last in the portal.
At least they are doing it the right way. A real shining beacon of virtue they are over there. Some things are more important than winning games.

He's giving kids from the mean streets of Waukee and Moline a chance at a free education despite their mediocre athleticism and basketball abilities.

And they get to do it front of tens of fans that even occasionally show up in person despite the outrageous 18 dollar ticket prices and their general indifference to the game of basketball itself.

Yep, racism and homosexuality lawsuits/settlements and all. The model of success really.
