There’s just zero defense. Michigan State letting bad guards get into the lane at will, guys running under screens against Keegan, etc.

But Iowa’s also on fire so that adds into things.

He may have realized at some point that he's not working with a very good roster so it's time to ease back and show a little more patience.

Iowa's defense will likely give Sparty a chance.

After watching great defense from ISU and other Big 12 teams, it's amazing how bad Big 10 defense is. So many open looks and not stopping the dribble drive. Not your typical Spartan team on display.. Murray can play, but he is fortunate to play in the Big Ten. Plus, Iowa doesn't expend any energy on defense. All the effort ISU gives on defense has taken a toll on the offensive end. After 12 years, it's obvious that Frans philosophy is to simply outscore you.

Can't say I went to games at the end of the Davis era, so maybe things got stale then and crowds started to suffer. But I went to a few games in the mid-90s and it seemed pretty full even on a Thurs. night game in conference play. I could be remembering things wrong, though.
