What if Fizer had stayed another year?

This is my favorite. At the time, a former McDonald's All-American JuCo center was planning to transfer to Iowa State IF Fizer stayed. Fizer leaves, and that guy tries for the NBA instead. He bombed in the NBA, but that doesn't mean anything, I think he would have been dominant at Iowa State. Just imagine Fizer not having to play the 5 at all.

A runner-up is "What if Michael Nurse looks both ways before crossing Lincoln Way?"

What if the referee who botched an ISU touchdown call late in the 5-point loss to Oklahoma in 1944, thereby killing ISU's unbeaten season and Big Six title hopes wasn't the sports editor for the Des Moines Tribune?

Iowa State Locusts

...is not the worst name that I have heard. That is something of a portentous, ironic nickname for a school dedicated to helping agriculture, however.

In 1876, the U.S. Congress declared the locust “the single greatest impediment to the settlement of the country between Mississippi and the Rocky Mountains.” Throughout the nineteenth century, swarms of locusts regularly swept across the American continent, turning noon into dusk, devastating farm communities, and bringing trains to a halt.

What if Dan Gable stayed at Iowa State and became head coach.
What if Cael Sanderson stayed at Iowa State AS our head coach.

Since it's the off season. Wondering what your top crazy scenarios if something didn't happen in Iowa State sports

My first one off the top of my head is "What could have been had Niang not got hurt in the tourney and we beat UConn".

Niang is right up there, people forget how well that team was playing and just how loaded they were. Weapons everywhere. Not saying it was a sure thing, but even without Niang that group beat NC and took UCONN to the end in what was effectively a home game for them. Kane, Ejim, Monte, Niang, Houge and people also forget that was pre injury Naz. Naz was one the better shooting guards in the college game at that point. That team was was firing on all cylinders, would have taken a massive effort to beat them.

What if CPR wouldnt have had a back up punter as our holder for a fake extra point vs Nebraska? Lol

Or what if the equipment manager wouldn't have packed the hard hat for CPRs last game?

What if Royce White played hard enough to sweat?

Not exactly on topic but didn't the women's team lose in the Sweet 16 that same night to Penn State down in Kansas City? Double wammy.

I was down there for that game. There was a huge game watch for the men's game. That game ends and we head over to municipal to watch the women lose on shot at the buzzer to psu.
