Recent threads about movies with quite a bit of Coen Brothers love. They are great filmmakers but with such a wide range of genre, I bet people's top 5 favorites can vary quite a bit. Curious what others have as their top 5. As a reference, here are their movies:

Blood Simple
Raising Arizona
Miller's Crossing
Barton Fink
Hudsucker Proxy
Fargo
Big Lebowski
O Brother, Where Art Thou
Man Who Wasn't There
Intolerable Cruelty
The Ladykillers
No Country For Old Men
Burn After Reading
A Serious Man
True Grit

My top 5 are:

5-No Country for Old Men
4-Raising Arizona
3-Miller's Crossing
2-Fargo
1-Blood Simple.

**Their new movie out later this year, Inside Llewyn Davis, looks incredible and could bump into the top five.

A Coen Bros top 5 without O Brother or Lebowski? Blasphemy!!

I'm a big fan, but there are too many on that list I haven't seen (yet). I'd go:

5) Hudsucker
4) Ladykillers
3) Fargo
2) Lebowski
1) O Brother

There are several I had trouble with. O Brother and True Grit are both great great movies, but just behind those five on my list. I am in a great minority, but although I like Lebowski a lot, it is not one of my favorites of theirs. Blasphemy I know!

Fargo is brilliantly done. I have talked to people who just don't like it, or get it. they're confused

hard to narrow them down because there are so many good ones

5 Hudsucker
4 Barton Fink
3 O Brother
2 Lebowski
1 Miller's Crossing

honorable mention for Ladykillers, if only because it often gets overlooked and is a really, really good film

I feel uncomfortable including True Grit on any top 5 coen movies, because it's a remake of a better version.

Yeah, you know, well, I'm sorry, Evan, that the Coen brothers don't direct the porn that I watch. They're hard to get ahold of, okay?
