Re: Herman to Ohio State?

Forget Steve Loney. Not every person we hire has to have ties to Iowa State.

I would prefer it, if Herman stayed. I think that staff stability plays a big part in getting a program on track.

If Herman does leave one would hope that we would get a spread OC.

Loney would require a switch of positional coaches also, since Bill Bliel is coaching the O-line now.

Re: Herman to Ohio State?

shouldn't you know that as a loyal Cyclone since '77?

yes, my friend. thanks for your concern...

My point is that yesterday, Iowa State was nothing to them and today, Iowa State is an offensive powerhouse and Tom Herman is the greatest hire in the world....
AND because he is in MENSA he will dominate the Big Ten...so they are geniuses for hiring a genius...

Figured we should get away from the question mark as this is a done deal.

Reported by Football Scoop, which has a great reputation.

The search is officially on...

Re: Herman to Ohio State?

Why is ISU starting a freshman QB? Might be a good place to start asking questions.
Because the stop gap(Jantz) between the old recruits and the new didn't work out and now he has his recruits in place, who btw have very bright futures. That's a bad thing?

Maybe the receiver corps is "underachieving" because the scheme they are running doesn't provide them the opportunity to "achieve".
So drops aren't an opportunity to achieve? This was a problem before Herman and all signs point to him turning around with his recruits.

Set it back to where? ISU is already at the bottom of the Big 12.
Were you not here for the coaching changes a few years ago? Losing coaches is a great way to set an offense back.

The offense needs to score more points. If it takes a new OC to get that done, then so be it.

You can dwell all you want on ppg this year, but the problem was TO's. You can put some of that blame on him but not all by a long shot, and over the second half of the season we were much improved in that category.

any other short sighted questions?

Confirmed according to footballscoop (excellent reputation).

That sucks, he's a good coach and we might take a step back before moving forward. Also looks bad if we have OC's so excited to get out of Ames that they're willing to take a demotion.

RT @dtracy89: Just now seeing Herman to OSU rumor. Should be noted that Herman's three-year, $250,000 per year contract expires at the end of this season.

I'm interested to see what tOSU will give him.

Now that's interesting...I wonder if there was talk about that not getting renewed.
