the frats definately had a lot of awesome parties that were organized for you. also, probably the best way to meet a lot of girls without having to try.

Back to the original question- (I believe it had to do with the TKE house, not why you don't like "Frats" or why the dorms are great)

TKE reformed a few years back and I would definitely recommend checking them out at least. I know a few guys that helped rebuild and they are good guys. It's worthy of a look but if it isn't for you no big deal, there are certainly other great living options at Iowa State.

I agree, I knew quite a few of the Tekes after they reopened and my brother even pledged there. There are a few bad apples like in an group, but overall they're a good group.

and as far as the paying money to live in the dorms theory being the same thing, you aren't going to be automatically liked by everyone in your dorm just because you are in the dorm. i think that once you join a frat, the other fratters automatically like you and see you as a brother.
