And now Ben Bruns has caved too. You have to be kidding me!

Just listened to him on Iowa Everywhere. Basically praised how good Iowa is, praised our really young team for being able to hang in there... said Iowa will likely go on to have another great season... and basically said our season will suck... but only because of how young we are... and we all need to still be excited and be supportive because he thinks the future will be bright even though we're going to struggle a lot this season.

He wasn't even upset with how long we were taking on that TD drive.... because.... of course.... we're so young!

So.. speaking of 'tired'... I'm tired of all this BS. All of the ISU media is just slurping up all the BS that CMC puts out. Just awful. We all knew we were going to suck this year... so it's all fine!!

There's always the option to just stop watching.

I think it's clear Campbell will never say anything bad about his players to the press and if that means he's says things that drive fans crazy then so be it. I just don't pay attention to what he says to the media anymore.
Best post of the day. After 8 years you would think most fans would get this.

Oh how quickly some of you forget. This was less than a year ago.

“I don’t know exactly what is going on. I thought there were good play calls, it was more of a lack of execution and why that happened. I don’t know.”

Tired of watching Iowa put this game away by halftime because we know that two touchdowns in the second half is like climbing Mt. Everest on one leg
Tired of losing to a total mediocrity of a program because we can't do the simplest things that are supposed to be our calling card
Tired of not being able to pick up a single god damn yard when we really, really need one
Tired of running the most predictable play possible when we need that yard knowing full well we can't pull it off
Tired of the same game plan for 17 years in a row, because this year will be the time it finally works
Tired of our insistence on making Brian Ferentz look competent
Tired of watching Iowa fans reveling in our humiliation in our own stadium
Tired of wondering why a program with a NYD bowl game winning coach is asking itself these questions in the 8th year of that coach's tenure
Tired of wondering when these supposed great recruiting classes start to pay off

Tired - really, really tired - of this:

Still not as bad as the time CMC said the Cy-Hawk game wasn't much of a rivalry. That was after the game we lost where KF finally could say he had a winning record against Iowa State after 18 years of trying.

Campbell has never taken this game seriously.

He’s not a killer instinct guy. He’s a control guy that wants to win every game by 1 point - that would be the ultimate culture and control and winning the margins play
Agree, but he missed a big control of operations of his football team. How can he be Mr attention to detail and winning in the margins, when he failed to tell his team that betting on football is wrong. Where's the accountability in that? These were starters at skilled positions, whom he should be paying the most attention to. Campbell has no credibility after that.

The way a lot of you are acting on here, you would think we just lost to Drake and went 0-12 with a team full of all American seniors. Holy **** people. It was game two. TWO. Against a top 5 defense nationally. We made some mistakes that a young team makes, and Iowa capitalized on it.

They say true colors come out in times of adversity and good lord, some of your true colors are really ugly. I hope you all keep this same energy after wins.

Someone comes in every year and talks to the football team about gambling and how it’s illegal. They knew what they were doing was wrong and illegal. If you expect Campbell to be monitoring what everyone is doing on their phones every minute of every day, you’re an idiot.

We have a top 10 schedule difficulty. It’s not getting any easier.

Shame on anyone who doesn’t shout about our win against Ohio (assuming it even happens — who knows) from the rooftops, after taking a shotgun to both our feet in the Iowa game. For. Shame.

Texas is the only team on our schedule who I’d be worried about and even then, we get them at home in November. We’re still finding our identity on offense and who our playmakers are. The only skill player returning from last years offense who saw PT is Noel.

I think we’ll see Sama become the starting RB at some point this year, Higgins be the stud we’ve all heard about, and Brahmer will end the year as our top TE.

Gambling is rampant. Putting that on CMC is ridiculous. Should he be accountable if they also get speeding tickets or don’t pay their bills?

This isn't difficult. Can't spend years bragging about building a culture and then get a total pass when some of your best players have so little respect for that culture that they put their own careers and the team's success in jeopardy.

Players bet against their own team - does that not give you pause on this supposedly great culture?

Let me know when the NCAA makes players ineligible for half their seasons or ends their careers for unpaid bills or speeding tickets.

The team that just beat ISU lost players too.

If you think that illegally beating on NCAA games is limited to ISU and Iowa student athletes, you’re delusional.

He’s their coach, he’s not their babysitter. Young adults make stupid decisions all the time. Life is full of hard lessons. Some are more costly than others. Would you blame your boss if you got caught cheating on your taxes?

You're flailing. This is just a blather of stuff that's already been hashed over and has nothing to do with this argument.

I don't care about Iowa. I don't care about other programs and who does or doesn't gamble. My taxes and my boss have nothing to do with one another. Gambling and football eligibility do. I can only react to what has happened to players in the program I care about.

I'm not even arguing that Campbell should face meaningful consequences for the gambling thing. Just that we can't claim we have this great culture when players so openly defy it.

I agree that we didn't have everything available to us all day long, but there were missed opportunities and in a game like this, you HAVE TO hit them. Iowa basically beat us on 3 plays yesterday. The 60 yard run and the 40ish yard pass play both led to points and the pick 6 essentially sealed it. Iowa made their handful of plays, and we didn't. Same as it ever was. Win in the margins my ass.

Campbell saying how proud he is and that this is our best effort against Iowa rings hollow with me. Talk about a low bar. This has been the turd that won't flush his entire tenure and as long as he is unwilling or unable to change his approach, the results will remain exactly the same.

Heacock has to be the most patient and forgiving person on the face of the earth. How he can continue to develop talent and create masterpieces on one side of the ball, only to watch an inept offense piss it away game after game is beyond me. That guy should have millions in his bank account and rings on a few fingers but instead chooses to stick around here and pray that we can somehow scratch out 3 tuddys so that Campbell can get to the postgame presser and throw around his catch phrases for 15 minutes. Unreal.

I've literally never been less happy to be in Ames than I was yesterday. Having the mouth breathers milling around all day yelling GO HAWKS at each other like a bunch of tourette's patients, knowing there's not a damn thing we're going to do to shut them up is getting really old. The good news is, we'll soon get an email or hear Pollard on some show saying how this is our fault. We're not giving enough to the Foundation or to the Collective, or we're not sticking around in the game long enough, or we're tailgating too long. Shut up and get back in line people. Meanwhile we've ruined one of the best tailgating scenes in college football so that we can have a few more places to buy a $10 beer and a $25 burger. So we got that goin' for us...which is nice.
Love the passion. Seriously! Fans should be upset.
