I'm confused why your initial post got 3 laughing reactions. It seemed like a pretty vanilla post.

Some people are threatened by opposing viewpoints which leads them to cry "political". I don't instantly post laughing reactions on discussion about Twitter just because of its ownership.

I'm pleading for people to keep this about Bluesky. There's already pages of unrelated social media stuff. This is not about Reddit or Threads or Facebook. Please please please start another thread.

I have seen this mentioned about BS a few other places as well, there may be a little bit of legs to it. They're claiming 15M users signed up now.

These things change every now and then and it never hurts to try out. Just ask your MySpace and Facebook profiles about their usage lately. IRC chatroom's been empty lately I'm guessing. The old WarCraft guild is pretty quiet. Clippy is still waiting for you to come back to Word 2003.

I think this is the point. People liked the concept of Twitter, but it has been overwhelmed by bots and junk.

But.. I've catered my twitter and my algorithm so avoid (mostly) the junk. 90% of what I view is sports related. Yeah, there are some sponsored ads in my timeline, but for the most part I see content from the people I follow.

The "For you" page can get wonky if you go down rabbit holes, but if you take in 90% of sports information, that is what your "For you" page will be.

Twitter is all what you interact with. You interact with posts that piss you off, youre going to get more of those. You interact with stuff you like ex. sports, comedy, youll get more of that. So if your Twitter / x timeline is pissing you off, its probably your fault
