Yes, his foot told his brain if he started playing " hero ball" he would get sent to the bench thus not hurt as bad.
Yes it’s old news, although it was diagnosed as a muscle strain while he was here:

IF THT throws ISU under the bus in this, I'll be done with him. Not that he cares about what I think, but I just won't be rooting for him anymore that's all.

You shouldn’t jump to a conclusion that he has.
Hey, it's not like it hasn't happened to us before. Wesley Johnson threw us under the bus and it did damage our reputation somewhat. Luckily we landed Fred though.
Just for the record, I think THT has an unbelievable opportunity in front of him. He probably couldn't have went to a better team. After Kawhi goes to the Lakers, they will just need some warm bodies that will play for cheap just to fill out their roster.
So THT has a great shot at making the roster, as long as he's healthy. I do hope this is just a really short setback and won't hurt his chances. I want him to succeed not only for himself, but for ISU's reputation at putting players in the NBA too.
But if he doesn't make it, I just don't want to see him blame it on his foot and that ISU completely mishandled him, etc.

Kawhi went to the Clippers FYI, and Lakers have signed three other players. All over ESPN.

So now I guess THT's chances of making the roster have went down drastically.
I love Kawhi and this decision though.
