Are you skipping the posts explaining it was out of context? Reporter asked what would happen if the played with the same intensity as they did against Baylor, answer was lose by 27 (same as Baylor).

KSU is frustrating. They aren't that bad, so they can certainly beat good teams in this conference. On the other hand they can play very poorly and lose to almost anyone, hurting the conference.

I had forgotten about that. Leading the conference, unranked, and get beaten by us. Oh yeah.

This is the first year of them being really down. With that said, I can't believe how bad they are.

Exactly, and them being down is more a product of the somewhat high expectations that were put on them at the beginning of the year. It's hard to argue that they haven't overperformed in the past few seasons. It's amazing how short-sighted some people can be.
