Oregon wouldn't have been in the championship game. You don't really think the voters would have left out an undefeated Florida State do you? They'll rank them 3rd or 4th when it doesn't matter but no way in hell they fall out of the top 2 under the BCS system.

BCS RANKING was better than this committee with ADs from schools and conferences involved, drastically better.

4 team playoff is drastically better than 2 team playoff. 8 would be perfect. 16 would damage drama of regular season.

Took a big step forward and also a small step back with this change. Committee needs to be accountable at least to certain metrics, they strut out this "SOS" that disagrees with pretty much every commonly used SOS rating out there.

The "won a championship game" is an outright lie they should all be ashamed of. Two SEC teams and Notre Dame were talked about for most of the season. Those teams should never have been in the discussion if winning a championship game or an outright conf title is key. That part is incredibly disgusting and dishonest.

I kinda get a kick out of everybody thinking that this playoff system was going to take the subjectivity out of the rankings. And they're (we're) still whining:twitcy:

The BCS ranking was 1/3 about as objective as you could get. First thing they did was remove that part.

The other 2/3 was also more objective and neutral than the committee.

There was no honest reason to get rid of the BCS ranking to select the teams. The result of the change to a small committee? Ohio State gets in the playoff from a weak conference with a bad loss. FSU would have had a bad computer average but still snuck in at #4 because of the 2/3 human poll result.

You'd have had #1FSU, #2Oregon, #3TCU, #4FSU with the old ranking. Inject committee and you drop the lesser known brand out in favor of OSU.

This bickering is pointless...

Playoffs are dumb for major CFB. The bowl system is what makes college football great and the BCS or these half-a**ed playoffs are useless and they dumb down the very thing that makes CFB the greatest sport on earth.

How would a final AP poll be worse than this garbage? It was better.

Any Cyclones fan should recognize that if there's going to be a true playoff someday well be talking bout 32 teams an ISU won't be one of them. UI might not either.

Yes.

Do you not get it? If the committee was trying to get the four best teams, and they considered TCU better than "conference champ" Baylor, they would take TCU.

Do you claim that Missouri would be in the playoff had they upset Bama in the SEC championship? We both know the answer - Bama would still be in the top four. Your argument about conference championship trumping EVERYTHING else is invalid.

There is no way they were taking a second place team over the first place team. Yes Bama would have been left out with the same situation. After they made the NT game against LSU, without winning their division or conference and all the fall out from it. No way was the committee going to start out that way.
So TCU was flat all the way out unless 2 Big 12 teams were in, and no way was that happening either.

TCU's out of conference included a 30-7 beatdown of Minnesota. Ohio State beat Minnesota 31-24. Again, your argument is invalid.

Baylor's out of conference was pathetic, I agree with you there. AND THAT'S WHY TCU CAN BE CONSIDERED ABOVE BAYLOR, even with a close head to head loss. Any of this making sense to you?

TCU won at home and in good weather. OSU won on the road, in bad weather and a back up QB. Then you add in the fact that MN was a very much improved team at the end of the yr.. The only way TCU would have gotten in is if 2 Big 12 teams got in and no way was that happening.

Far from fact. Minnesota didn't improve any faster than other teams, your perception of how good they were is what changed over the season.

Did he say they improved more/faster than anyone else? No. He said they were much improved.
