The Walking Dead

I thought it was an excellent episode. I know I would have spent a lot of time hacking on that bolt before I would have considered hacking on my wrist.

Shane: "you're husbands dead, so let's hook up" What a great partner.

I gotta say I have a hard time blaming him given the situation. Very few survivors left, you could die anytime, not alot of eligible non-zombie women in the area. He seemed like he was going to do everything he could to take care of her and his partners kid too.

I'm holding out for a flashback to what exactly he told her. Clearly he lied, but that lie could be anywhere from a well-intentioned fudging of the truth to a premeditated story to get in her pants.

Yeah, that'll be the key. He could have easily told her he was dead because he had heard that the hospital was full of dead people (which it was) or that they couldn't have gotten there safely and he was trying to save her. Or, the other way around.

It was enjoyable seeing him take out his anger on that wife-beating POS.

I've not yet watched the newest episode, but...

The sheriff was in the hospital. Surrounded by zombies. After the hospital was abandoned.

To say that he was dead (or as good as dead) would have been reasonable.

Thought this episode was great. Didnt think he would get back to his wife so quick, but it could get really interesting from here. I loved how the hillbilly cut off his hand instead of hacking the thin bolt that he was cuffed too. Funny stuff.

I don't think he could reach the hacksaw. He was trying to loop it with his belt but in that last scene the saw still looked to be just out of reach. I think he just ripped his hand off.

No, he reached it. When the camera panned along the ground to his hand, the hacksaw was laying next to it.
That being said, he would have been better off dislocating his thumb to get the cuff off, rather than cutting his whole hand off. That is, if cutting the little tiny handcuff chain didn't work in the first place. What an idiot. :twitcy:

Between delirium from thirst and exposure, fear of the zombies tearing at the door and pre-existing stupidity, it's not surprising he went for cutting off the whole hand, rather than going after shackle or taking off his thumb. Though, he may have tried both.

Is zombieism sexually transmittable? No reason.

from the zombie survival guide:

No information - historical, experimental, or otherwise - has surfaced regarding the results of sexual relations with an undead specimen, but as previously noted, the nature of Solanum suggests a high danger of infection. Warning against such an act would be useless, as the only people deranged enough to try would be unconcerned for their own safety. Many have argued that, given the congealed nature of undead bodily fluids, the chances of infection from a non-bite contact should be low. However, it must be remembered that even one organism is enough to begin the cycle.

I think this is the biggest factor.

Quite an episode we just got done with.

I thought that was quite a twist with the other survivors being true good guys instead of gang thugs like we first thought.

Pretty harrowing scene with the attack at the camp.

....wow.

edit: posted at the exact same time, just as the episode was finishing on my end. still a bit stunned from how that ended.

Definitely a crazy end of the episode. The one thing I think will really set apart this tv show from zombie movies is that it will give you much more time to get invested in the secondary characters, and it will be a tad bit emotional when they die. I know at the end I was dreading to see who was going down.
