Heads in the sky
Did anyone watch the premiere on AMC? Not to bad of a zombie series... has a lot of potential.

Encore is now just starting for those that haven't seen it.

My only thing that kind of bugged me is the fact that it just doesnt seem plausible that he'd be able to walk and what not after being in the hospital. Especially with an IV drying up and not having food/water of the sort for how long a time period it was he was stuck there while the zombie's were destroying everything.

Just turned it on, I completely forgot it was premiering tonight.

I thought it was really good. The only issue (miniscule) I had with it was at the end. My mom flew into town to visit and we were watching it and as soon as he got into the city I said to her "There's no way that horse is going to get out alive and it's going to **** me off." Lo and behold...but, I'm a sucker for animals and just hate seeing them get killed, even when I know it's fake. Call me a softie if you will.

Did I miss on how the epidemic started? I saw the whole episode but maybe I did not hear how it started.

Was looking forward to this ever since i heard about it. Found out today that i dont even get AMC.... Oh i was ******. Now i know why i have never seen mad men...

I thought it was really good. I have always wanted to read the books but have never gotten around to it.

If it follows the source material(The Walking Dead is an ongoing comic series), they wil not get to how it started in any of the first few seasons. Its more about how various survivors have dealt with the problem. It is a very good series.

Good show. Hopefully in future episodes we get to see how the zombie take-over went down, probably through flashbacks.

I liked it, I haven't read any of the source material, although I kind of want to now.

I didn't know about the source material at all, just LOVE zombie movies. I really liked it but I'll have to get used to the slower pace of a series vs. a 90 minute movie.

Now knowing that this show is based on a comic book I'm wondering who stole whose idea with the guy recovering in the hospital; The Walking Dead or 28 Days Later?

Got it on the DVR and plan to watch it tonight after work. Already read a good chunk of the comics so I am pretty excited.

Alot of zombie movies are pretty similar but I guess by the dates walking dead stole from 28 days later. Walking dead started in 2003 and 28 days later came out in 2002.

Haven't read the comics, but want to now.

Seems like a good series. Hopefully will live up to my expectations. Though, having read The Zombie Survival Guide and World War Z already, I had plenty of issues with how the main characters have been responding to the undead threat. Riding a horse into an urban area? That's a terrible idea!

Note that yes, I am indeed a zombie fan. My favorite supernatural/sci-fi beings by far. I don't know if it was just me, but during the trailers, and once during the Atlanta scene, it seemed like the zombies could run (or at least stagger very quickly). Which is worrisome, because combine that with zombies that can apparently think enough to turn doorknobs, and you've got yourself a threat bordering on Velociraptor scale. (Yes, I do analyze buildings for their safety during both zombie and Velociraptor outbreaks)

Yeah, I'd prefer either running / ravenous zombies or traditional moping "braaaaains" zombies. Maybe they get amped up in a crowd...

On a side note; I had to giggle when I saw the scene with the GTO Judge. That was a '69 or '70 I believe, one of my favorites. Anyway, knowing the demise of Pontiac it seemed like the cars were rolling dead too.

I liked it. My wife stayed awake for the whole thing even though Im sure it gave her nightmares. I too was bummed when the horse took one for the team. Very well done on the effects and makeup. Im curious though, they focused on one particular zombie at the end and showed him multiple times. Wonder what that was about.
