I'm just talking out loud, but why the **** isn't the Sun Bowl a Big 12 Bowl? The Sun Bowl is tied for the second oldest bowl with the Orange and Sugar, only the Rose is older. Maybe I'm just stupid or something, but a bowl that old in the State of Texas, the Big 12 hot bed, should be a guaranteed Big 12 team every year. I realize El Paso isn't New York, but this should be a tradition of this conference.

The Fiesta, Cotton, Alamo, Holiday, Sun, and Insight should be Big 12 locks every year. Just another sign of terrible leadership from the Big 12.

It was a Big 12 bowl during the 2006-09 cycle, with two years Sun and two years Gator.

It had a long streak of Big Ten vs. Pac-10 from 1995-2005. Before that it was kind of hodgepodge.

Over the entire course of the bowl, 9 of the current Big 12 members (and both future members) have played there. Only Kansas State hasn't.
