Watching that video shows that he’s nothing but honest and compassionate. I work with business leaders and they have a hard time with image. They can’t seem to be themselves. Not all, but many. Campbell has an understanding of the personalities, as well as, the physical characteristics to win at the highest level. The PR machine is the best it’s ever been! Great time to be a Clone!

The pride I felt watching CMC in this new “Soul” video reminds me of this video...

I’ll never forget watching that game when Kempt was on the sideline. Middle of the game in his first ever start against a top 10 team on the road and he looked like he could have been sitting in a recliner watching golf. Incredibly relaxed yet focused. It was so strange to see even at the time.

Not to steal anyone’s thunder, but if the following link doesn’t bring a tear to your eye, well, you just might not be a Cyclone.

I remember being in our living room, my whole family there, and we’re all decked out in our Cyclone gear....I’ll never forget that moment.

First of all, holy **** to the OP. Matt Campbell is amazing.

Second of all, I can't make it 30 seconds into the quoted video without tearing up.

Third of all, y'all need to learn to hold your phones in landscape orientation for these videos, JFC! ;)

Extremely lucky to have Matt Campbell and his staff in Ames! Leadership is second to none! When you have guys coming back for a 5th and 6th season says something about the man! Matt is more than just a coach!

I just went and rammed my mother ******* head through a locker. Sweet Mother of Moses this cat can motivate.

Totally agree.......Now think about this. What we are seeing is what happens when you have someone that is a great motivator working with student athletes that are highly motivated. Literally the sky is the limit.

Anecdotally, Lou Holtz (then at ND) was asked one time how he motivates his team with the pressure, expectations etc. His reply was brief but poignant. He said "That's simple, I get rid of the unmotivated players."

Thoroughbreds want to run with other thoroughbreds. They don't want to hang around donkeys.

Campbell has shown us that the right culture matters and is important, and you do it with 5* people (notice I didn't say "players"). When you give and give and give to something that is bigger than yourself, eventually you get in return (similar to CMC's process talk).

Personally, the closest I have come to this was in the military and a lot of the concepts / applications are the same.

Great time to be a Cyclone!
