The best damn root beer out there?

Truly Sprecher is the best. You can get it in Ames at Jeff's Pizza.

Me and some friends do an annual trip to Milwaukee for a Brewer's game and the Sprecher brewery tour. The tour is $3 and has free samples of some great beers and all the soda you can drink. If you're ever in the Milwaukee area it's a great place to check out.

Amen ISUser, those are good times. And the trip to Solly's Grille afterward makes the day! :yes:

My family did a blind root beer taste test once. We bought about 10 different brands and six of us tried them all and voted. I think the winners were Sprecher and Jones Soda. The loser was Fastco.

Dorthy's in Ely, MN is the best I've had...we always grab a case for the cooler before we head out fishing for the week.

My favorite is Sprecher out of Milwaukee. It's widely available and comes in BIG BOTTLES. Thumbs up.

is only the sprecher from menards good? or would it still be good if I picked some up in Milwaukee, where it's actually made?

I have somewhere I can tell you to go to pick some up for comparison purposes, but probably not appropriate on a family friendly site such as this.

Actually, I'm thinking all the brew pubs make their own. I know Raccoon River make it too.

Red Monkey is god awful and doesn't even taste like root beer, I can't believe so many people like it.

Barq's is my favorite in terms of generic, but A&W is good, especially if you're in the mood for a creamier taste.
