Supposedly the best coffee or at least the most expensive coffee is Kopi Luwak which is coffee that has passed through the digestive system of the Asian Palm Civet and excreted through their feces.

So how much does it cost? A cup of Kopi Luwak may cost $50.

So how does it taste? Well, it’s rich and smooth and it does have a distinct hint of caramel. Quite pleasant, in fact, and thankfully without even a whiff of feline anus.

I've tried it. It's only sold in one place here in the Twin Cities, and it's only $10 for an 8 oz. cup.

It's very good, but not worth $10, let alone fifty. The beans are sold for $400/lb.

I prefer coffee that has passed through the Golden Palm Civet to that of its Asian brethren. A touch more bitter, with more earthy overtones.

My mom went to Vietnam and brought some of this back. It did go down pretty smooth, but certainly not worth the money that people pay for it.
I've seen another version in stores that were eaten by ferrets. A lot cheapter, but I haven't tried that.

If people are into that, I'll feed some to my dog, bag it and purify it for $50.
