I just went out there and it's pretty quiet. Couldn't find a thread talking about ISU this week. Curious to see what they are saying.

I smell an upset this week!

Texas and ISU fans get along pretty well for the most part. My friends and I go to Austin everytime we football play down there and been there once for basketball. Always super nice. Probably my favorite fan base next to our own of course.

It will probably change after we beat them this week!

Yeah, I'm a bit surprised I haven't caught any grief from my UT co-workers this week. Half of them didn't even know they were playing ISU this week, the other half seems to treat us with a sort of mild neglect, like they think it's cute that we're trying to win but really they couldn't be bothered with us. There's been a lot of complaining about the coaching staff, particularly Brown's assistants. I think many of their fans are disenfranchised at the moment. I think this would be the perfect chance to kick them while they're down. We ended Nebraska's streak in the rankings; we can do the same thing to Texas (115 straight weeks).

I had a similar experience with UT fans last year in Austin... super nice, of course if ISU hung 3 TDs on them I'm not sure how nice they would be... but think about it, it's hard to develop a rivalry with any bitterness when Ames and Austin are 1000 miles apart.... one of the downsides of the "superconference" concept... they play in Ames every 4 yrs (and vice versa) and go 2 yrs w/o even playing (assuming the teams don't meet in a conference title tilt). With that being said though, since UT is a huge budget "named" school, I LOVE beating them, in anything.

I would bet they have a hard time getting excited to play a team that has yet to beat them since the Big 12 was formed. We are 0-6 vs. Texas and they are nice to us because they don't see us as a threat to them.

Prove them wrong.

Except while Oklahoma owns us (over an even longer period of time that Texas), we have been competitive with Texas. Even in 2003 we were a lot closer than the final score looked (of course that was Young's freshman year and he was backing up Chance Mock). Our 0-6 with Texas isn't as bad as our 3-55 or whatever it is against OU.

I also found the Texas fans to be really nice last year when we went down to Austin...
Superfan and I were decked out in all our usual gear and we really didn't catch any crap for it... in fact we got a lot of compliments from people, and cheers from a Frat.

However, while it was never stated, there was definintly an attitude that we weren't really any threat to them, so they could afford to be nice. Still the best fans we've come across though (Compared to what we came across in Tech, I'd take Texas any day)

It would be nice to see an upset this week
