Am I the only one here who wants Texas to do well in the SEC? I hate Texas, however if they do well and become big dog, they're going to cause problems there like every other past conference they were in. (If they're going to do that anyways without success, then I hope they fail.)

Texas will cause even more problems if they’re not successful. They think their brand exceeds that of even Alabama and should be catered to as such simply because they’re Texas. Think back to the last decade - Texas football was mediocre at best, yet they wanted to be treated like they’re King ****. It won’t be any different in the SEC.

And then ESPN will spin this into " The top Big XII teams are only middle of the pack SEC teams".
That's your big worry - it becomes official ESPN dogma that only the SEC and B1G are truly top level. That becomes a "perception is reality" situation and long term its really bad for the Big12.

Yet they are the ones that pushed the move to happen....

I really do hope OuT just gets destroyed and sits in the middle of the pack with more money and nothing to show for it. Great, you just bought gold toilets for your locker-room, doesn't mean the fans get any benefits.

If Riley had stayed at OU, I think they would have competed for a top spot in the SEC most years. TX hasn’t done anything in so long, I don’t see a path forward thats positive.

I don't like ou moving but I'll still root for them over any sec team.
This is so hard for me to figure out.

on one hand, I want OU and Texas to burn to the ground and fail. Kind of like, you chose money and you now you are irrelevant.

but on the other hand I hate the SEC and all of their fans are going to point out how OU and Texas had it easy in the B12. "welcome to the big league" type smack.

its pretty much a no win situation in my mind. I am going to split the difference and hope OU and TExas are just 6-8 wins per year. not embarrassing, but also enough to make them regret their decision.

I think everyone already thinks SEC and B1G are top two so that narrative wouldn't be any different if UT and OU get curb stomped.

Even if the SEC gets 4 teams in the playoff and Big 12 gets 1 or 2, it'll be fun to see Texas watch their former foes get further than they will.

Oklahoma wasn't a top-tier Big 12 team last year.

Texas hasn't been in ~15 years.

I seem to remember TCU was playing in the national title game not too long ago, not Michigan or a second SEC team. Yeah, Georgia murdered them, but Georgia is murdering everybody.

And here’s the thing, had Nebby, OU and UT done it right and not been anal about it, they would be making more in theBig 12 and with a very good chance of making the playoffs every year and keeping the money.
As it is, I compare UT with Trump and OU, his bagman. They deserve the next 20 years playing Kirk Ferentz and Brian in a bowl game.

I really think Texas might be teed up to get embarrassed for a while.

CF podcast was going through one of those preseason magazines that said Texas had the best players at every single position in the Big 12. They can't be that good.

Two years ago, all those preseason magazines said Sark would be playing for the national championship.

Texas has won 1 Natty in the last 53 years and none in the last 18 years. OU has not won a Natty in nearly a quarter century. And they think that even the SEC should genuflect to them.

TA&M has to be so pissed. It would be hilarious if they accepted a B10 invite. It would be a giant middle figure to UT and the SEC and allow the B10 to plant a flag in the middle of SEC country.

UT definitely came out ahead of OU initial schedule wise.

Funny with their RRR Dallas game, each team can only offer three home conference games. Kinda crappy for season ticket holders.

I think as of today, OU is still two non-con games short in 2024. They have two crap home games against Temple and Tulane, but need a P5 game under SEC rules.

Maybe I recall incorrectly, but I thought as part of their early exit, each team was to play a Big 12 team in 2024. Guess not.

If you follow both those teams forums they seem to love that game in Dallas. I'm not a huge fan of neutral site games when they involve ISU.

As someone who lives in Oklahoma OU fans can give any awful fan base a run for their money in the awful department.

Went to a mbb game at Norman no real problems but they certainly weren't cordial.

Plot Twist, they join the Big12 had have more appearances in the college football playoff than Texas and OU combined when compared to any period of time. Lol.
