T2 is still the best action movie I've ever seen. People forget it was 1991 and still had awesome effects.

T3 was good, but too heavy on action and too light on plot.

You DO realize we're talking about the Terminator franchise here, right...

Of course I realizeit's terminator. T2 was amazing in terms of the plot. T3 didn't live up to it.

I guess different strokes for different folks.

I just didn't necessarily think that T2's plot was something to write home to mama about either.

For anyone that watches the Terminator show on Fox, this movie ties in with the show. I watch it every week and it does a great job referencing the movies and not contradicting the story lines.

Well, they've moved it to Fridays ever since 24 came back. The wife and I both love it. It's pretty cool the way they have Sarah still alive because as you know she died between T2 and T3.

Im curious. In T3 John acted like he didnt have this past of fighting Terminators other than the one in T2. But in the series does he not encounter them?

Yep :)

In the tv show, it starts off just after T2. A terminator is sent back to kill John again and another one is sent back to save him. Long story short, they time travel to present time (late 2000's). So they are on a different "branch" of time and that's how Sarah is alive and T3 never happened on this "branch" of time.

Weird, so they are pretty much saying T3 never happened. T3 may have not been the best, but I did like how they said that the future could not be changed. Everything was falling into place to put him as the leader of man.

Yep. From what I've read/heard T4 is ignoring T3 and going with the storyline from the tv show. That could be wrong but just what I read a while back.

Although I'm not 100% sure on that because in T3, John did meet his future wife, and she's in T4 too.

Does this film take place after the third one?

Question: The continuity was always a little flexible in the movies. What's your take on the timeline?

McG: Well there's no doubt that the beginning of T3, for example, begins with a bit of a punt. As to what happened at the end of T2, and there's some rejuggling of the timelines. We're largely treating it as though the bombs have gone off. I'm not going to share with you what the date is where the bombs go off, and we come into the picture in 2018. We do the best we can to honor the timelines that have been put into place. I think it ultimately feels very satisfying. If we've done our job properly, then this will be regarded as the statement of the time and the place and the where and the when and the why and the how. And it comes from a place of doing a lot of research with, you know, futurists, with scientists who talk about how long it would take the atmosphere to clear itself out so you could actually go back outside and do your thing. we're trying to just sort of amalgamate three pictures, and amalgamate the intention. And then answer that to the best of our ability. Again, there are certain things that are in stone. The T-800 comes in 2029, you know, we're building towards that place. Therefore if hardware should show up in 2018, that was supposed to be around in 2029, that's a problem for John Connor.

I find this hard to believe, especially because of the way T3 set up for a sequel. Also, Claire Daines was asked to be in T4 as John Conner's future wife, but turned it down, so they're having another girl do it.

Ron Howard's daughter is replacing Claire Danes. She was in Spiderman 3 as Gwen Stacey.

Ah yes, Bryce Dallas Howard. I dont know why, but I find her strangely attractive.

I have been fairly skeptical about this since I heard they were making another Terminator. The fact that Christian Bale was in it, at least gave me a glimmer of hope. Seeing this newest trailer gives me even more hope.
T3, while not horrible, was just a letdown compared to the previous 2.

I really didn't think T3 was a "letdown." I thought it was pretty solid.
