I have a chance to go to the Creighton game Sunday night, but it's gonna require about 10 hours in the car. We're back visiting the in-laws for the weekend in north central IA. It's about 2.5 hours to DM from there (5 hours roundtrip) and then I have to drive back home to WI that night (another 4.5 hours). Plus, hard to say how the kids are gonna sleep away from home. I'll likely be working on 5-6 hours of sleep.

I'd really like to go to see this team play, but I'm having a hard time justifying the effort. Someone talk me into it.

I'll be there. If that's not enough for you, I don't know what is.

Fan-up; buy a ticket; and cheer loud! Every Iowa State fan that shows up at the Well on Sunday has the opportunity to help the team. Literally -- think about that. You can help influence the outcome of the game and be part of a Cyclone victory! Amazing!!!

Coach Hoiberg also asked for everybody to show up on Sunday on the post-game last night. That's a direct plea from the coach himself. What more do you need?

Go baby Go!!! Go Cyclones!!!

No, don't go.
Sorry, I will never go to a game at Wells Fargo unless it's an NCAA tournament game for the men or women.
This is the arena that has sucked away all the big, money-making concerts/events from Hilton and ISU, and I for one will not add to their gate receipts and profits.

Ummm...let it go man. Time changes things. The days of Hilton concerts and DMac coaching at ISU are long gone.

Living in the past is not healthy.

If you are crazy enough to do that, I might be crazy enough to do this....

I get done with work Friday night around 11 pm - midnight. I could sleep for maybe 4 hours and then leave Fort Worth. It would take a 12 hour drive, but I could make it to Ames for the football game against Mizzou!!! I'd stick around for the Creighton game on Sunday. I have all of next week off and I was planning on coming back to Iowa already, but wasn't previously planning on trying to make the football game... buuuuuuut............

See you there. I considered going to the football game too, but I didn't want to push my luck with the old lady.

Do it. The football team deserves to have as many people in that stadium as possible on Saturday. And the basketball game will be a lot of fun:yes:

You know you'll regret it after we win if you don't go:wink:

If you go this route take a couple 5 hour energies with you. Trust me. When you start shaking your head to stay awake just pop one of these suckers.

I would say go if you can because this team is fun to watch. I also understand that's a lot of driving for kids.

The game price at Wells Fargo will be a lot cheaper than seeing the Cyclones at the Final Four this year, so i'd go now.

i heard you can't even get jalapenos on your nachos... so i don't know why you'd even bother coming.

No wait the game is in Des Moines. My bad. Do they offer jalapenos there??

I would love to go to the football game, but I would be dead tired by the time I made it there after driving 12 hours, and I'd only get an hour or two to tailgate... I don't think it's worth it. This week has been crazy at work (training). Working all sorts of crazy hours. 73 hours this week at all times of the day (and night).

I've made many long drives before and I do pretty well. It's not much different than sitting in a combine 12+ hours per day all summer cutting wheat on custom harvest. But those Amp energy drinks sure give me that extra boost when I need it... :twitcy:
