Does anyone remember the riot in Ames the night we beat UCLA in the Sweet 16? Kind of forgotten after the VIESHA riot in 2005. The police presence wasn't as distinct....But I think there was way more property damage done.

Every street light on Lincoln way from MWL to Welch was pulled down, couple cars over-turned, and a news van got the roof collapsed. I also remember a couple hundred people ending up in Lake Luverne that night with the practice field goal-posts.

Such great memories

I don't know if it started at Towers, but that's where I jumped in. A pseudo riot (against dry veisha) and elite 8 celebration at the same time. Said "hi" to Jischke at his mansion and then visited Jack Trice. The goalposts are indestructible fyi.

Have already heard many students' plans for Friday: FAC on Welch straight through to the game. If something is going to happen, it would probably be this weekend.

That was awesome. I don't remember much property damage, but students packed LW and Welch and the cops actually stopped traffic on LW.

I remember that! I remember being in the middle of a mob of students in the intersection of Welch and Lincoln Way. I don't remember property damage just a lot of excitement and outpouring of emotions.

I was there. I remember the mob making its way to The Keg Shop, which they had closed when they saw it coming. I thought there was going to be some looting taking place, but we restrained ourselves.

There was also sofa on fire near the frats, a dumpster was started on fire. Keg shop got broken into.

It was extremely fun, but extremely stupid of everyone. I remember getting into Jack Trice, then they decided to head to the practice field. One practice goal post ended up being carried to Laverne and thrown in. Signs knocked down, lights knocked down.

Somehow I got thrown into the lake.

Not to be that guy but the Veishea riot that pretty much resulted in Veishea being lame from then until eternity was in 2004. 2005 was the year of no Veishea, after that it was a series of freshmen and sophomores who were put into the Veishea committee to make sure that it was as physically lame as possible.

I had a Statics midterm that evening, so missed the first half of the game. Saw the remainder of the game with my friends in Friley. Didn't participate, but I witnessed part of it and don't remember it being that big.

To be fair, 06 and 07 Veishea were awesome. Then the started splitting up the concerts making you pay to see them...
