He is announcing today that his boiy Shawn will keep the job in the family. Giuess he failed to win #700. Anyway, one more new coach. If Colorado and Nebraska fires after next year, that means at least 7 new coaches in 14 months in Big 12. Throw out the old game film.

"The months-long saga of Eddie Sutton's future at Oklahoma State will come to a close this afternoon at a 2 p.m. press conference. Sutton, 70, is expected to hand the reigns of OSU's basketball program over to eldest son Sean. What function the elder Sutton might continue to serve with the Cowboy basketball program could be addressed in today's meeting with the press as well. Waited until signing day passed brefore announcing. Kept a 4 star and a 5 star.
They should have a good season.....

It's really too bad his career had to end like it did. I certainly liked and respected the guy. Iba brought OSU into national prominence but Sutton helped keep them there in the 90s.

Sutton was one of the best coaches ever in college basketball. I lived in Arkansas when he coached the "Triplets" and he did a lot with the talent he had (except KY).

He's lucky he was not coaching at ISU last year, as the Hawkeye fans on the Board of Regents would have strung him up. LE didn't break any laws any he was treated ten times worse that what Eddie got. But then again, OSU didn't have BVD either.

He did not suffer too bad since his 45 year old boy took over and he may still be a consultant. He will have more time on his hands to do the things he wants at 70 like margueritas. He sure helped Creighton out when he coached them. He took no lip from players and had THE PLAN in force, much like McD will now run our show.

Appears that Oklahome State will be paying for one head coach and having two. With Sprint Familiy Minutes, Dad Sutton could be calling Sean Sutton on his cell phone during the games and telling him what to do. By the way, that was 798 wins for Dad Sutton by end of last year. Not as many as The Knightster though.
