What do you think?

According to this list anyway:

He is from Iowa State. From a nonextant sport, and likely not well-known.

It is:

1. Mike Busch – Baseball

After playing both football and baseball at Iowa State, Mike joined the Los Angeles Dodgers and later became a baseball coach. Mike Busch tops our list of the most famous athletes from Iowa, and he will forever be remembered as an Iowa sporting legend.

Looks like the typical hot garbage AI generated article.

And just the little bit of scanning doesn't bode well for its accuracy. It says Marv Cook was 4th all-time in receptions in the NFL? WTF are they talking about.

And Dan Gable is the 7th most famous person in the sport of wrestling in Iowa?

And their #1 was actually mostly known for crossing the MLB picket line.

Surprised Kurt Warner is not on the list.
Zach Johnson too.

Yeah that list is stupid.

Explain to me how Elmer Laymerm Jim Zalensky, and Harold Nichols are more famous than Dan Gable. H

Red Faber more than Bob Feller? If I wasn't from Cascade, and they hadn't put up that sign when I was a kid, I wouldn't know who he even was.

I am less afraid of AI now.

Terrible list, but Mike Busch should not be an an unknown to ISU fans. He is on the very, very short list of Cyclones who were All American in two different sports - in his case baseball and football. The only other I can think of off the top of my head is Gary Thompson who was the first (baseball and basketball). There were probably others since ISU had some linemen who were All American caliber track and field in throwing events.

When I saw Gable ranked so low, I assumed it was because the rest of the list would be a bunch of football and basketball players. Having him below a bunch of other wrestlers with worse careers is odd at best, not to mention someone from archery and diving. I do see the archer set a world record at the same Olympics Gable was at, so maybe you can justify that one, but a 1948 silver medal in diving 30 spots above Gable is bizarre.

Busch was the reason I posted this list. I was close to Iowa State Baseball (one of its cheerleaders especially and I went to school with the coach) and miss this right of spring. Otherwise, all my lead-ins to this list using words like "unknown" and "surprise" is pretty much a gimmy that is a list of dubious authority.
