This thread got the first reply, so I'll concede to this being the official Storr Transfer thread.

Very surprising, thought he was all in here at ISU. Dresser did say something about him getting heavy over break, maybe weight/lack of commitment and/or discipline was an issue.

Still seems like a good kid. Wouldn't be surprised to see him end up at Virginia to be with the Paulsons again.

As far as the remainder of the season goes, do we see Parker go up to 141 for the rest of the year? Multiple people have said he's been struggling with the weight cut to 133, and we always have Simmons as a solid option at 133.

Wow that's big news! Would have been a great wrestler in the next couple of years. Only a redshirt freshman and already one of the best on the team. Weird timing as he just wrestled Sunday.

Wow. That's a stunner. Parker or Simmons to 141 now?

Wish the kid the best. Not that I wanted to lose him but that has to free up a good chunk of scholarship money doesn't it?

You would think so. He was a top-level recruit.

Well that really sucks but it breaks up the log jam from 33-57 a little though. Now Ian can wrestle at his more natural weight assuming he doesn't bail too. Losing Storr is not something I would have predicted and I'm definitely bummed but have to try to find the silver lining.

I'm wondering what happened that made him decide to pack up his bags now instead of finishing out the season and transferring next year

Freeing up money is good and all but he was a top recruit and had a really good redshirt season last year. Better to actually have a guy like that on campus and wrestling than hoping you might be able to get a recruit who can contribute in a couple of years.

I guess we just cannot have nice things in wrestling anymore. I don't know if this is that big of blow ultimately, but it sure blows.

I know he didn’t seem too happy after his match as Metcalf got on him pretty good. Hope that wasn’t the cause.

If he broke down after that then I'm kind of glad he's leaving. Not saying that in a bad degrading way but if he can't take that little bit then it's better that he leave now and somebody else come in that wants to be here. To me it was a little refreshing to see Metcalf do that.

Same thing I am wondering. Now I know he needs to do what's best for himself but that's a real b**** thing to do at this point in time.

And it's just a waste of a postseason experience for him as well. Only have 4 chances to wrestle for a NCAA title, and he just lost one of those chances. It'll be interesting to see what else comes out on this story.
