Couldn't agree with this more. I don't get it... They just look like D-bags.

What's that tattered red sox ball cap do for your bench press? I think

Yes Yes, this guy is my favorite. He usually is accompanied by a 64 oz sippy cup of some pink or blue liquid. Also, he typically likes to glare into the wrap-around mirrors when completing each of his 10 sets of curls.

Is that also accompanied by a syringe full of "medicine" that for some strange reason he has to inject between his toes?

I love it when dbags wear uniforms. Makes it so much easier to spot. Other helpful items include Tapout gear, Ed Hardy, sunglasses indoors, bedazzled jeans and popped collars.

Call me weird but I used to do this when I worked out because I like to sweat a lot when I work out. I know some of you tough guys are going to come on and say "work harder, yadda yadda," but its just an old wrestler thing to where I dont feel like I'm doing much unless im pouring buckets of sweat out. I usually wore sweatshirts when I
lifted too, is that douchey?

I do the same thing, but is it cold in my basement so the sweats and stocking hat serve 2 purposes for me.

I would be more worried about the guy in the gym that brings a "shake weight" and uses it between sets, rather than the guy in the stocking hat.

I generally lift weights in blue jeans and a t-shirt. (No hat for the record.) This doesn't fit in with the dress code. But, really, who gives a ****? I'm there for myself, not to impress anyone.

I'm of the opinion that it's pretty douchey to judge others based on what they wear to work out. If wearing a hat while working out works for these guys, let them wear their hats. They may or may not be a ******, but it isn't because they are wearing a hat.

Sometimes I wonder who's more douchey - the people that wear/do certain things that make people think they're douches, or the people who have to create a new thread every other day accusing said people of being douches just to make themselves feel better about their own lives.

I mean, really - ripping on someone because they wear a stocking cap when they work out? At least they're taking care of their bodies and their health, unlike some random internet message board posters who eat 5 Krispy Kremes and drink 10 Pepsis a day.

Someone wears a stocking cap when they work out - who really gives a ****?

(and no, I'm not defending my own behavior - I sweat too much as it is working out and hardly need another excuse for more sweat to pour out of my body. But I really don't give a **** if someone else decides to)

I agree with this, and no, I don't rock a stocking hat, Tap Out gear or a cut off that looks like a tank top.

I go to the the gym to workout, not to check out other dudes and what they are wearing.

If a person has the time to check out what others are wearing to the gym then maybe they should be a little bit more focused on their workout to see better results.

i dont wear them, but they are usually accompianed by someone who has worked pretty hard, and is motivated by sight... its good to invision what you see, and be completely concentrated on the task at hand. if the lack of shirt is accompanied by biker shorts, watch out. :)

ps the drinks do work, and can elevate your game.

i find the tall white sock, weird shorts, on a skinny/flabby dude with no muscle practicing karate in the mirror way more strange.

Out of curiosity, is it ok if I scream like a feral bear after I finish my set of 10 at 95lbs on the bench (it's ok to be impressed) and then proceed to flex wildly while whispering to myself how jacked I am into a mirror?

Side note, is using the word jacked considered cool?

I've seen the hat and it always looks funny to me but wear what you want. A guy last week had one along with long pants and a columbia style fleece on. He looked more suited to go hiking than lift but whatever.

The guy I want to know about at my gym is hans. Or maybe its franz I'm not sure. He looks slighly insane, wears a bulky hoodie with enough underneath that he looks like hes trying to look bigger than he is. Which is silly cause he is generally the biggest guy there or next to it. Moving down from the hoodie is the weight belt, fleece sweat pants, too short by the way c. 1982 and some white leather generic looking reeboks that have seen better days. I just want to know where this guy lives, what he does for a living, etc... He's definitely the biggest character at the my Y. Notice I didn't call him a ******, but he is definitely not average.

Why do dudes wear stocking hats when lifting weights??? Is this covered in intro to d-bags?

I wear one almost everytime I workout. I also carry my M9 on my hip. Oh, and some of the equipment that I use, is built out of wood. I've GOT to be the biggest d-bag on CF.

But seriously guy, why are you so worried about other people and what they wear at the gym? You're not insecure, are you?
