I didn’t catch your comments but Riggins just isn’t a high end guy. Ceiling is NCAA qualifier.
So not a huge wrestling follower, but I see we lose to Stanford then Stanford goes and wrestles Iowa and get absolutely destroyed.
Maybe a one-off, but that doesn't make me feel very confident about that upcoming match at all.

Iowa wrestled their best lineup, we didn’t. Also horrible scheduling by Stanford with their guys having to make weight for a 7pm dual on Friday night and then get back down to weight for a 1pm dual the next day. Making weight 2 times this early in the season (even if they had an allowance) in under 24 hours is tough to do. Add in the travel and it’s pretty impressive they won 3 matches. Probably would’ve been 4 with Garvin if he didn’t have the tough cut and gas at the end of the match
Would have been interesting to see Euton wrestle him the second day. Hunter totally gassed out in the 2nd Against Caliendo. Had a great 1st period. I don’t feel as bad about Grice’s loss after watching the kid beat Ayala.
That is how Garvin wrestles. He gassed against Euton too. The difference was Euton had absolutely zero offense whereas Caliendo was able to hit a variety of attacks.
Also. Grice likely weighed in at 125 so was giving up weight.
I'm glad you enjoy it, we have a lot of fun and even talk about wrestling sometimes.
You guys are the best. I legitimately enjoy listening to duals a ton. It is helpful, however, to be watching while listening to you guys so when Nate loses it and all I hear is him screaming at the ref "LET'S CALL THIS GUY!!!", I know what he's pissed off about.
But I would not ask for one thing to change in the broadcast. At all.
I had to be in South Korea and couldn't get the live stream on ESPN+. But I could get the Varsity Network stream, it was the next best thing to being there!
People complain about wrestling nobodies and beating them 45-0 as well. Always going to be some who don’t like it. Rather wrestle good competition and lose
This is really cool. And you are right. You get a totally different, unfiltered perspective of the dual. One of my favorite moments last year was when they were down at ASU and apparently stuck broadcasting in some corner and could barely see the mat. They handled it so well and it was hilarious. And then Robin came over and was fired up because we were kicking their ass and started cussing on air. Just awesome

You’re getting it wrong. I love dual meets and want the cyclones to wrestle all the best dual meets we can get. Nebraska, Stanford, Minnesota, Oregon state, whoever. What I don’t like is that our team is now doing what Cornell did last year. Not showing up for a dual meet because we are putting an emphasis on nationals because we finally won something and now have an ego, like Cornell. I’m just upset we had an awesome home dual lined up to kick off the season on a Friday night and had guys not show up to compete.
