I don’t think it makes a lot of sense to take a week or two off before having a scrimmage. Both from a mental and injury prevention standpoint.

What do other schools do? As others noted, ours is earlier than many others.

Wisconsin just canceled its Spring Game, too. They took a little longer-threat of rain and lightening did 'em in.

I didn't read this whole thread, so I apologize if this was mentioned earlier. Minnesota is moving its spring game from Saturday to this Thursday night.

ISU was the smartest of them all to do it earlier rather than later. And the forecast keeps worsening too. Rain all day Friday, Friday night, and Saturday too, with strong winds also on Saturday. The field would have been torn up, and the safety of the players would have been a HUGE concern.

Now the eastern Iowa radio sports guys can kiss our a** for ridiculing us on air for cancelling it.

Bummer but very understandable and lots of players still got good reps.

Time to head back to the Kool-Aid keg on the approach of an August that should be about the most exciting ISU preseason...ever?

I would assume that posters will be available at CHOT on Saturday night and at the Jacobson Building on Monday if not earlier. They weren't there today. I looked.
