I just saw on Iowa State Volleyball's Facebook page they have laid down Sport Court for tonight's game. Have they done this in the past or is this a special thing?

IMO they are doing this because they're playing on national tv and don't want the floor to look bush league. They've already had to re-do the taping on the floor because the highschool girls volleyball court is a little larger.

It's coming from Nebraska who used the court last week when a match was played at the Devaney Center.

Huskers face test from 7-1 Cyclones - Omaha.com

In another unusual twist to an already extraordinary match, Nebraska coach John Cook revealed Tuesday that the same Sport Court the Huskers used Saturday at the Devaney Center was on its way to Ames for Wednesday’s volleyball showdown between the No. 4 Huskers and 11th-ranked Iowa State.

Officials decided, Cook said, that the surface will give the match a cleaner look for the ESPNU television cameras. Because of flood damage at Hilton Coliseum, the Cyclones are playing their home matches at Ames High School’s 2,000-seat gymnasium.

The volleyball-specific Sport Court will cover the Ames High logos and the floor’s basketball markings. The two-tone blue surface will make it easier for fans and viewers to tell when the ball lands out of bounds.

Do what ESPN wants, they are more than likely paying for it anyway.

Possibly, the article doesn't state who the "officals" are. Then again, for all we know, it was Nebraska officals offering to donate the court to ISU knowing that Nebraska wasn't going to need it anymore this season.

But more than likely, you're right it probably was ESPN officals.
