Surprised more people aren't saying 2, that's my favorite.

As far as three goes, I think this quote from a friend sums it up best:
"Watch out, Spider-man's gone emo!"

2nd was best. 3rd was just done to make money...sadly.

I think the 2nd was the best personally, but I seem to be in the minority when I write that I liked the 3rd one just fine. I don't think it was any better than the first two, and it may not have lived up to expectations (that were raised by having three villians), but I don't think that made it a bad movie, IMO.

I think the first Spiderman has the best individual scene out of all three movies. It involves rain and a pink dress worn by Mary Jane....

1, then 2, then 3. 3 had it's moments, but too many villains... it was too busy.

Agreed.

I thought 3 was almost like they had two separate directors. The first 3/4 of the movie was moving along at kind of a plodding pace, developing stories (slowly), alot of background setups.

Then the last 20 minutes was like - "well, we got to finish this thing up" and had a big climax fight scene that they flew through. And then just over.

1 was the best, followed closely by 2.

Until Dark Knight, Spider-Man 2 was arguably the best comic book movie ever. Speaking as a card-carrying comic book nerd, #2 captures the feel of reading a good Spidey story perfectly. The scene on the train, from the fight against Doc-Oc, to the very end when the civilians are passing him back through the train, is perfect.

I thought the first one was the best, simply because of surprise factor. I remember seeing the teaser trailer for it back in the day and thinking it looked AWFUL. It hit a lot of strong emotional chords and did well in the box office.

The second was pretty good as well, can't complain. It had the best action, to be sure, and a good measure of character development too.

I can't explain what happened to the third movie though. It's like they weren't even trying. What a horrible, horrible wretch of a movie.

3 sucked because the producers basically forced Rami to add Venom to the film. When the director doesn't like one of the characters it has a tendency to show in the final product,
