UPDATE # 2:

BLANKET HAS BEEN SOLD. Thank you to everyone in this thread who chimed in and shared thoughts.

Haven't been on here for quite a bit. Logged on, saw the rough news and gofundme for @Jer - though of a way to help. I hope this is ok to post.

For those of you who don't know, a bit over 10 years ago I created some ISU blankets with Pendleton Woolen Mills inspired by Jack Trice. A design note with the blanket - I might've been the first to create a licensed item using the Trice jersey five stripe motif that ISU subsequentially adopted and turned into a logo.

We just discovered one of our elderly relatives who got one of our blankets never opened the bag. The plastic crumbled when we opened it, but the blanket itself had never been unfolded. Let's call it like-new condition.

Not sure how to go about this, but perhaps in return for a verified donation to Jeremy's family via gofundme, I'll ship the blanket to you for free. I figured the "winner" could coordinate with me and Jer's family to verify the donation and email me their details so I can send the blanket.

Should we do an open auction here with an end date - perhaps Thursday before ISU's first game?

Or should I have a really high price, let's say $3.7 million and first come first serve here?

Any other ideas?

I like the auction idea, but I'm pretty sure it's going to go out of my price range.
I bet @carvers4math would have a quilt rack it would look great on or at least she'll keep the thread bumped to the front page for maximum visibility.

I bought one 10 years ago when you launched the merch and have been very happy with it. High quality, as you would expect from a Pendleton product, and the cardinal and gold color pattern is very nice.

A++++ seller

Just set a date and highest offer takes it.

Alright let's bump this again - want to hear thoughts from more people. Since it's for Jeremy, perhaps I'll set the high bid to win the blanket immediately as

$777

37 (Jack's number) x 21 (years ago Jeremy created CF). Plus it's a lucky number! That's simply science.

More realistically I'm thinking I'll create an official auction thread to run through probably Thursday before ISU starts and we can see how that goes. Or is that too short?

Will Venmo be able to be used.
Hopefully 777 is not enough.

Would a silent auction form like below work for people? If so, I could set a start/end time. I have to manually update the highest bidder info so not ideal and only happens when I'm online obviously.

Wow that is a cool blanket. Would be neat if they made another run of those... hopefully we can raise a good chunk of change for Jer, good on you Kagavi. Can always count on something interesting when I see your posts.

Not to derail this thread but it reminded me of the Tom Smith story that Jar Lar wrote about (really cool/tragic story) which included a picture of his blanket. The "I" with the stripes and star is really cool. Sort of like a military rank insignia but must have some significance for his playing career perhaps?

I wish I had gotten a blanket like this when I graduated... haha not that I had anywhere near the accolades Tom had to celebrate. Assuming it's some sort of graduation memento they used to make with his year, fraternity, etc on it.

Getting this bumped back to the front page.
Anyone need a Kagavi Blanket and want to support a good cause at the same time.

I must be the only buffoon who doesn't know much about this item, but in case I'm not - here is what it looks like

I could put it up on the attached link and do a mini day-long silent auction, but if the bids aren't there, I don't want Kagavi to give up such a cool collectible.

Don't have enough time to keep up on creating an auction, so I'm going to officially set a BUY IT NOW price of this single blanket at $370 (obv. Jack reference), which is not that much more than the original retail price. Will only be available through Saturday.

Email me or post in this thread if you want to claim it.

Of course if you want to donate more, that's up to you. Remember, this will be via a verified GoFundMe donation, but it will be up to Jeremy if he can accept other forms of payment. I am not involved with handling the financial side of things.
