And my property manager made *quite* the generous offer.

Let my current monthly rent = $X79, where X is the hundreds value
Let the offer = $Y99, again where Y is the value, in hundreds

Let X-Y = $600

That is to say, the offer on paper is to the tune of $580 / month LESS than what I currently pay / month to live here. I can only assume then ment to increase my rent by $20 and somehow typed in the wrong number, 2x. If that is correct, that translates to a $600/month difference, or $7,200 over the life of the lease

Someone is going to **** her pants on Monday when I take that in to the office :wideeyed:

Ok by "just" I mean I got it yesterday and am just getting around to posting about it but doesn't change the numbers on the paper :wideeyed:

Oh and technically at the bottom where the box is, it doesn't say "One year lease of $Y99/month", it says "One year lease of $y99"

You are a nice guy and your landlord will get to claim losses against his profits in the last five years so Uncle Sam in the stimulus will make it up for him and you. Smile, it is your lucky day.

This information is so top secret that you couldnt just use numbers? Or better yet, just tell us they made an error and it appears that rent went down $580?
Jeeze, bored are we?

you better sign that and turn it in. That's their fault for not double/triple checking that before sending it to you.

That's what I thought. Flag Guy was willing to post about the issue but not the actual numbers? I follow numbers better than Xs and Ys.

I forgot my sarcasm pirate.

I'm hoping to sign a lease in Ames this week after we look at a place. Not trying to thread-jack, but does anyone have pros/cons to paying a few months' rent at one time vs paying monthly?

Sign it, turn it in, and make copies of it.

And don't feel bad about it, they would screw you over for money at the first opportunity you get.

Is there a place for them to sign it? I would sign it and then take it into the office and have someone sign it - then get a copy made. Then you have a complete legal document.
