Hopefully.

The public sidewalks along Lincolnway are city owned and should be fair game. I could be wrong about that, though.

I would guess that you could probably smoke in the middle of Lake Laverne.

$50 fine for getting caught smoking on campus would suck. Time to invest in smoke smokeless tobacco companies.

Man have you ever seen victims of mouth and throat cancer from chew? Its horrific.

What about parking lots? Like will people be allowed to smoke while they are tailgaiting?

This line makes me think not...

"The smoking ban applies to the entire university, including any work and study areas, outdoor areas and athletics facilities such as Jack Trice Stadium and Hilton Coliseum."

But it's hard to tell without actually seeing the law. That 25 foot rule would only extend to the area immediately surrounding the stadium. Interesting question.

What was the name of the room in the MU that all the foreign students congregated in and smoked like crazy?

No way could they enforce that.

Exactly. They'll probably make an attempt to enforce it initially, but eventually they'll just let it go unless someone complains. I used to smoke (quit about a year ago) and I remember visiting Case Western Reserve University, another school that had banned smoking on campus. The ban had been in place for about a year when I was there, and it was a ban in name only. People still smoked all over. Shoot, there were still ashtrays outside of most of the buildings. Nobody did anything about it.

The hospital I worked for had a ban on hospital grounds, but sure is shoot, when it rained or snowed, there were staff huddled in the back stairway smoking away. This stairway was more of a tunnel that patient families would occasionally use. It was gross. If a rule is not enforced people will bend and break it.
