Yeah, Gary Thompson was pretty good. From a very small school, Roland-Story. Or did Roland have their own high school in those days.
Oh God, this just turned Iowa Preps with someone trying to get people to talk about them.
Jordan Dykstra really dominated the class 1-A tourney with his size and skillsHas anyone seen anyone from a small school that has really impressed you?
I thought you meant from a small school, but in college. There have been several. In the future I think there will be more that will have success at the college level, due to AAU all evening the playing field. Recently:I'm just curius on who's lookin good next year so hope you feel accomplished picking on a teenager
You didn't have to reply it was an honest question yeah I'm a sophmore in high school I'm just curius on who's lookin good next year so hope you feel accomplished picking on a teenager
I'm not picking on you at all, I'm just telling you what 95% of these threads are for.
And frankly, if you posted this on Iowa Preps, you might actually get more hits. I'd bet most on this board can't name 5 small school basketball players. They can probably name half of Ames High's team, but that's definitely not a small school.
Ha yeah a kid from my school played against Martin bros select(dykstras aau team) and he was pretty awed at how good this kid actually is I see no reason why they won't repeat

There is a player up at Boyden-Hall that looked good, and the two big guys from Rock Valley.
Really? I played him in aau a couple weeks ago. I held him to 8 Pts and I had 7. He has at least 4 inches on me in hieghth and I even blocked him. I was was wondering what mcdermott saw in him. But now I see he got his scholarship pulled he'll go to some small d1 school. I will say that he was a lot stronger than I thought he'd be
Their a freshman at my school, Robert Rathje, his older brother matt played at Wayne St. Robert is currently a beast at 6'5" and 250 pounds with size 17 shoes, and he's not done growing yet.
And Zach Twedt, was first team all WaMaC at Benton this year as a sophmore this past year. He is a 6'4" gaurd who consistently put up 15 or more points, and almost led his team past Solon in overtime.
