I am looking for recommendations for sleeping pillows. Usually a stomach to side sleeper. My wife is wanting something for her birthday as well and even requested a new, effective pillow. She is a side sleeper as well.

Can a pillow be uneffective? I mean if it goes under your head it's pretty much accomplished it's one objective.

yes. as a stomach sleeper myself, I've found out the hard way many times that many pillows are designed for people who sleep on their backs whichelevate the head too much if you're trying to sleep on your stomach.

In theory, I guess a brick would work then...
Problem solved, mods please close. My wife is very picky about her pillows, I'll use a balled up sweatshirt if that's the closest item at the time. I too am a stomach sleeper.

Memory foam pillow. A little pricey, but it's worth it to me for the better sleep. (I am a side and stomach sleeper, too.)

All stomach sleepers here so far? Clearly nobody in this thread has ever been to prison before.

Any specific brand? I have also heard those commercials for "My Pillow", wondering if anyone has tried one?

I think if someone wants to play hide the sausage with you in prison merely sleeping on your stomach will not be a stop them.

I remember the infomercial for the Sobakawa pillow or something like that, I'd get that one.

I use a contoured pillow, that has memory foam. Side sleeper mainly, but I'll try about any position, if I'm not getting to sleep. Insert joke here.

I got mine at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I think it was this one, but I'm not 100% sure:

Therapedic® Queen Supreme Comfort Gusseted Memory Foam Pillow - Bed Bath & Beyond
I have yet to find a pillow that I like. Much like the commercials I am tossing, turning and folding my pillow every which way to try and get comfortable. The last pillow I bought was $50 and I only bought one figuring if I liked it I would buy a second. Maybe I should try this one and keep my fingers crossed because that last one isn't working.

I'll second this. I was never much of a pillow snob until my wife bought one of these. Now I take the damn thing on vacations.

I wanted it as my Mother's Day gift a year ago. I was really hesitant, as it seemed a silly amount to pay for a pillow, but it was a great purchase.

Exactly - I find it hard to sleep on other pillows now.

I love the memory foam...when it's new. I end up buying a new one every year or so because it's so called "memory" starts lacking and it doesn't support like it use to but it's a great pillow when new.

I cringe on every work trip because I fly and don't want to lug that with me in luggage but miss it a lot when I get to my hotel and spend 3 - 4 hrs stacking their provided pillows in a way that work for similar support.

Hopefully not derailing too much, but I'm also at least 50% stomach sleeper and I HATE it. But I can't help myself. It's very odd. I want to be comfortable on my stomach and can't because it's uncomfortable for my neck (throat), but I can't stop doing it!
