Will be an interesting selection show - we ended up tied for third in conference, but definitely assumed on be on the wrong side of the bubble. We swept 2 teams below us - KU and K-State - who are predicted to get in. The VB committee always goes by the RPI bible - and ours isn't good. We look better on Rich Kern and Pablo.
Who knows?
It will be a hose job if ISU isn't the #3 B12 selection after Texas and Baylor.

Wow - only two Big 12 teams got in. And KU, K-State and Iowa State did not...
Yep, at-large teams like IL State, East TN State, Denver, San Diego and Pepperdine all got bids instead.

Very disappointing for the conference and ISU.

I don't think we had real expectations of getting in - too many matches of not showing up. There was always hope I'm sure.
But the committee must really think the Big 12 is crap - for only getting two in.

Looks like RPI is a deciding factor - Illinois State-31 / ETSU-34 / Denver-43 / San Diego-47 and Pepperdine-37.

ISU was 74 prior to its last two matches. Kansas was 36 and TTU was 64.

Big 12 Volleyball is on a downward slide. Let's be honest, losing TAMU, Missouri, Nebraska, and Colorado hurt the conference in volleyball. Gaining TCU and WVU are nowhere near the level of those four.

B12 had two Final 4 teams in 2016.
CJL knows how to schedule in the non-con to optimize its RPI rank so it was a bit puzzling to see the RPI fall in the 58-60 range despite what appeared to be a solid SOS and 9-7 conference record.

The two losses that really hurt were at home to Oregon St and TOE. Lost to Oregon St in five sets that included blowing a 24-19 lead in the first set.

Down in WBB some also but really down in volleyball for sure. They selected the only two teams in the league that earned a bid.

The other end of the spectrum, the Big 10 and PAC 12 make up almost a quarter of the field with 15 teams in. Wow. Those two leagues are just dominating the sport.

Question is will we improve next year? Losing Jess, Grace, and Hannah Bailey. Bailey never really lived up to her hype coming in. Looked like this season would be her chance to shine, but Holthaus came along, plus an injury and that was that.

Annie Hatch from Mesa, AZ will be coming in to replace Jess on the roster. Will she replace her on the court? She was ranked 65th in the country this year, and 3rd team AA by AVCA.. Tops in kills in AZ.

Kenzie Mantz will replace Grace on the roster. 6-2 longtime commit from Belle Plaine. She made AVCA honorable mention AA. We'll also have Avery Rhodes back from injury and Canelaria Herrera back in her regular spot.

Also a couple of defensive specialists and another OH, but the two above appear to be the top two coming in.

Mantz will be given a shot at OH along with Hatch, Schuler, Herrera, Herbst, Holthaus and Anderson. Probably the biggest question mark as of now.

Rhodes and Hart will be the MBs and Mantz and Herrera could get involved there as well if needed.

Should be improved at setter, libero and DS next season with the returning players and new recruits.

Just saw this also. Didn't even know there was such a thing.
Last year was the first year for that tournament after a 20+ season hiatus. But it received almost zero publicity. Not sure if the other schools from the Big 12 who may have been invited turned down the chance to play more or if they simply weren't invited. Some of the field seems more like a "who's who" of "who's that?"

I understand ISU missing the tourney this year, but how in the hell is KU left out?

Cause they totally augered in over their last ten games (2-8) and finished 8-8 in a weak league. I was shocked to see in Tornadoes post that they were even a bubble team.
