These would be the games this year based on the BCS. I just don't understand why people are in favor of deciding a champion anywhere but on the field.
1. LSU vs. 16. Georgia
2. Alabama vs. 15. Clemson
3. OK State vs. 14. Oklahoma
4. Stanford vs. 13. Michigan
5. Oregon vs. 12. Baylor
6. Arkansas vs. 11. Virginia Tech
7. Boise State vs. 10. Wisconsin
8. Kansas State vs. 9. South Carolina
Second round match ups (with no inevitable upsets)
1. LSU vs. 8. KSU
4. Stanford vs. 5. Oregon
2. Alabama vs. 7. Boise State
3. OSU vs. 6. Arkansas
Third round mach ups
1. LSU vs. 4. Stanford
2. Alabama vs. 3. Alabama

Not saying this will happen and definitely not saying this would necessarily be the best thing.

Okay, I'll say it. This would be dumb.

I hope you had fun, because otherwise you just used three hours of your life that you'll never have back!

Yes, then Iowa State can play in the Football NIT

Iowa state would never compete for something like that. We could, however, win our Big 12 north division and win a conference championship game. Then we could put everything into winning a BCS game and ending on a successful note rather than a loss.

But if you take ISU out of the equation entirely, yes, your tournament looks fine.

It would make the regular season pointless. Who would care about the regular season except for rival games.

So this may be a dumb question but is there even a regular season in this scenario? Sounds to me like a single elimination tournament starting in Sept. If that the case you are going to have some super ****** off alums/boosters/taxpayers after their team spends 40 million dollars on their football team only to have them lose their opener and go home with a final season record of 0-1.

How do you get fans and money for all those games? You really think advertisers and fans are going to go to all of those games? That would cost the average fan about 5 grand in travel, tickets, food, etc.. Not gonna happen.

They would be home games for the top seeded teams, with the exception of the championship game being played at a neutral location. It doesn't cost that much to go to a home game, depending on where you live of course.

It would still cost $250 - $500 for a family to go to each game (4). 6 games of that if they made it the whole way.

Where do you get the AD money? The week long events that fans and ad people use to hype up the big bowl games? That's where the sponsors get to showcase their stuff and entertain the fans of both teams that are at the game. Wouldn't happen in this scenario because most of the lower round games would get little to no support because they mean so little. Some games would be hyped when you got to 32, but it would pale in comparison because the lesser seed has to travel to their opponents home turf. Are they allowed more tickets this time like they would be in a bowl game? If they are, the cost just went up. And if they choose not to go and people from the home school buy them - the sponsors go away. Just another home game that will not draw large enough TV audience to be worth their time and money.
