With Texans starting QB Matt Schaub once again banged up, Sage Rosenfels replaced him late in the first half Week 8 at San Diego. He completed 17 of 27 passes for 176 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. He also ran once for six yards. Schaub left after taking an aggressive block from Drayton Florence upon throwing his second interception. The hit, one of the helmet-to-helmet variety, earned a 15-yard penalty and sent Schaub to the hospital for an evaluation.

Fantasy Analysis The extent -- or even the nature -- of Schaub's injury isn't yet known, but Rosenfels stands to start in his place if he misses any time. Rosenfels has put up good stats when he had to pinch hit for Schaub each of the last two weeks, but the Texans played from behind each time, forcing him to throw more. He'd make a risky start in Fantasy for Week 9 at Oakland, and we'd probably consider him a No. 2 Fantasy QB at best. Check back later this week once the Texans determine the severity of Schaub's injury.
